I would like to start by thanking Avatar home health care. They have been an exceptional company in our families time of need. We were initially referred by a hospital and in which my grandma was admitted, I received a call from one of their staff members, Itzy. They were very courteous, Professional and answered all of her questions. They make sure we didn’t have to worry about anything other than our family member Well being. They assigned us with a wonderful caring nurse and made sure My family and I we’re satisfied with the services we were provided. I am deeply grateful for Avatar And all of its employees. I would definitely recommend this home health agency to anybody that’s in need of a company that will treat you like family. Thank you.

I had the skilled nursing for 5 years. To sum up the skilled nursing services, the nurses that can in weekly were professional and reliable. I had problems with this agency's skilled side because I speak English and the RNS had to come I could not communicate with them. As for the non skilled caretaker services they provide....I had been with agency a few years before they got licensed by Tx Medicaid. Felix the owner, daughter at that time was the one who did enrollment/evaluations. The first visit to me she had on a pair of shorts and her hair was in pigtails. Not professional but I overlooked it. She had not done her paperwork prior and was asking me questions pertaining to the kind of care I needed. I told her exactly what had been told me by my Dr and the next thing I knew she had called the state and reported that I was discriminating and she could not staff me. I have a weak immune system and congestive heart failure so I stay away from crowds and children. Someone with school age children could be deadly for me. After I explained to the state I called Felix, the owner and he made a very unprofessional witty remark concerning his granddaughter but said that he would talk to her. A few days later the state called again she had reported me yet again. She refused to provide service to me however I remained with the skilled side another 3 years until they stopped me. The only good thing about the agency and the only reason I stayed was that my weekly nurses 4 in all those years were very professional. They have very little contact with the office staff. This is the first time I have ever given a negative review but I felt it necessary to share my experience with others. Some things are very necessary in receiving medical help and one of them is communication. You must be able to communicate and there must be trust. One nurse gave out my private info and they fired her I believe then I asked that my son who lives out of state not be contacted by them and three times, once on Christmas day they violated that trust and my family was caused stress. This is just my experience. God bless you as you search for the help you need.
