I thought that Cimarron Place was nice and they were very personable. They take really good care of their residents. It's a small community, so it's like a big family as there are only 50 residents. So I thought it was really neat how they cared about their residents, it was very family-oriented there. The rooms were good and it's very clean there, so everything was super clean. Their dining area seemed nice, and they were constantly checking on everyone. They're very aware of their residents. They have activities like Bible studies, and they told me that a chef prepares the food.

I went to Cimarron Place. At first, I was very turned off because the minute we got in they were wanting to squirt stuff in our hands and spray the bottoms of our shoes. So there was a lot of that before the greet, like, "Hi, I'm so and so," it was more like you felt kind of attacked. But I know they're trying to do what's best to keep infection down, but because of my beliefs, I just felt like it was a little overboard, and it lost the relational side of thing, so I was on guard from that point forward. And then they were recommending that they prefer them when they're out in the public arena, they're in the facility, they wear masks. And I get it, but my mom's not going to be wearing a mask when she's out mingling. She has COPD and it causes other health issues, and she's already got brain dementia, so why cut more oxygen to her brain? So it wasn't as friendly where you felt more constricted around the mandates, or the caution that they wanted to take, which I respect. That was weighing heavier than just meeting somebody and having a personal relationship, so it just kind of bothered me, and they were just real business.
They were nice. Everybody was friendly, but it seemed more mechanical than just relational. It's like, this is how we do. But I think they're trying to gain business. They've had a remodel and their numbers might be low, but it seems kind of more around sales. They did interview Mom. We went into their little room and we talked about that. It was clean, it was newly remodeled. There was one autistic lady there that kind of yelled at my mom, so that kind of set things off a little abruptly. Not her fault, but Mom was just going up to say hi, and this woman, Mom must have scared her and she yelled and got kind of mad at Mom. There were not very many people out and about, there were just two sitting there watching TV. It just seemed like I wouldn't want my mom to be there. It just seemed kind of lonely, honestly. I'm sure I was going at a bad time -- it wasn't during activities or lunch or breakfast or dinner.

I visited Cimarron Place. It was very nice and I liked the fact that it's one level, so people don't have to negotiate elevators and things like that. It looks to me that the staff is well-trained and it's a very secure place. Nobody can get in or out without somebody else knowing this. So that's good. The staff is friendly. It's very clean and very pretty, very nice, with lots of room, wide, wide hallways and tiled floor, which is good.

My mother is a resident of Cimarron Place. I haven't been completely happy with the place, but I think a lot of that is because of COVID. I feel like anything I say may not be valid in another few months. They don't have enough workers, and I relate that to COVID. They don't have enough caregivers there because of the situation. Otherwise, I'm happy with it. I know the food is good. The people are friendly, and they know her, but they just don't have enough workers.
They do have a courtyard, and some of the residents have dogs. They can take their dogs out into this courtyard, and it's secure; no one can leave the facilities. They have two courtyards, and they're quite nice. They also have a front room where people can just sit if they wanted to watch TV; it's nice. Many of the patients there are at the point where they don't always enjoy those things. These are people who need care. This is not a retirement facility; it is truly assisted living. A lot of people do enjoy the courtyard and everything, and they have some turtles and things like that out there.
They have bingo, and every morning they have a sit-down exercise. Everybody is sitting, and you just do some exercises with your arms or with your legs, moving them about. My mother has yet to get involved in any of that.
I haven't had the food, but I know it's good. My mother at 102 has quite an appetite. She likes to tell them how much she's enjoyed the food, and she likes to call someone over and say, "Would you tell the cook this is very good?"

Cimarron Place was the first one we went to and that was OK. I don't think that I would choose that one for my parents merely because it's farther away Midland. The staff we met was very nice. We only saw the residents coming and going. We saw some residents gathering for lunch. We did not try the food, but we were told that they get to choose from a menu of a couple of things. It seemed like the rooms were really, really small or maybe that's just what they had available (which is understandable). The price was pretty much the same as all the other places, but with less room. They're not as spacious. We only met with the one lady who toured us around, and I don't think she was the director.

We chose Cimarron Place and my brother-in-law will be moving at the end of May. It was excellent. He is a veteran, and for the VA to pick up and help with the payment of this, it has to be an assisted living, and so he qualified for assisted living, and that's the route. It was kind of a financial decision, so this is a really good blessing. The facility is very clean. They seem to be very caring and very helpful, and they have answered questions, too. I've dealt with one of the directors, and he followed up to ensure that we had all the information we needed. The rooms are very clean and very roomy. There are no balconies or anything like that, but that's kind of the reason why we like it because he might wander off, so that's kind of why we chose that, too. Because of Covid, some of the amenities were closed, but they had separate rooms for games or get-togethers in the community. The cafeteria and the kitchen area were open. They have a sitting room and I saw larger rooms and things of that sort. They have lots of amenities.

The staff members in Cimarron Place are very friendly. The grounds are kept clean and neat, and the location is OK. My mother-in-law's apartment is a one-bedroom with a restroom, a microwave, and refrigerator. She seems to like it and thinks she's in a hotel. The place itself is pretty clean. It's not like a very exclusive community, but it's not shabby either.

Cimarron Place was dated and it looked like a place for women. The staff showed me an activity room and a dining room, but I didn't see any individual rooms.

My ex-mother-in-law moved into Cimarron Place, but she wasn’t happy. There was miscommunication between the director and the staff. The place is older, small, nice, and clean, with around 25 residents who seemed happy there. She had an efficiency room, which served the purpose. The meals that I had were excellent.

My mom has been in Cimarron Place for several months. Most of the staff is very warm & compassionate. There are varied activities for the seniors and the food service is adequate. And that is the limit of the good things I can say about this place!
This is NOT a full service assisted living facility! They have no transportation, as stated on advertisement or licensed driver to take seniors to doctor appointments. If they do call a transport company, the senior must pay extra! They have no nurses on staff! All medical personnel are considered medical technicians and can not do things like give shots or take blood sugar levels.
A lot of the contract with my father was verbal, now that he is dead, they refuse to honor the verbal contract. I have asked for additional assistance for my disabled mom when my dad died. They said they would give her additional assistance but would not charge her and then continue to charge the full rent they charged when my father was alive. And this would have been an acceptable arrangement, however, every time I ask them to assist my mom, they tell me she doesn't pay for additional assistance! I live 5.5 hours away and can't be there 24/7 to help her and she is disabled and has some memory lapses. She has many medical issues and the medical technicians are not authorized to handle many of her daily medical needs. And, home health has only been authorized to visit once a week.
I am moving her very soon to a "full service" assisted living nearer to my home! This situation has added additional stress for my mom & myself on top dealing with the death of a loved one and the legal & financial stress of loosing a loved one. I do not recommend this facility if your senior needs a lot of medical assistance or physical assistance or transportation to doctor appointments or to get supplies. Make sure, if your a couple, to get a written amount for rent if one of you pass away. My dad was told they would lower the rent for my mom by $600 if he passed away and they refuse to honor this promise.
