About This Community

WHAT IS THE LEGACY AT SOUTH PLAINS

Legacy at South Plains is Lubbock’s newest and most innovative Senior Living Community. At Legacy at South Plains we believe in taking care of the resident and their family as a whole. It is more than medication management and meals. We take care of 6 dimensions of wellness. Spiritual, nutritional, intellectual, physical emotional and safety. We offer 7 different floor plans. We are able to take Long Term Care Insurance as well as help with VA benefits for our veterans.

Independent Living:

  • Automatic Medication Management.
  • All Meals. (We have a 42% higher food budget than the top ten senior communities in the nation) You will experience a true culinary meal three times a day!
  • Housekeeping weekly.
  • Laundry Service weekly.
  • Internet.
  • Cable.
  • Electric/water.
  • Access to our fitness center.
  • Transportation.
  • Access to the sports lounge.

Assisted Living:

  • All of the above including assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Grooming.
  • Dressing.
  • Showering.
  • Transferring assistance from bed to chair, chair to shower, escort to meals.

Memory Care:

  • All of the above in a safely secured environment.
  • Quiet Care System. This is a system that learns our resident’s behaviors and alerts our care staff when there is a change. If a resident goes into the bathroom typically three times a night. It will learn their pattern. If they go in the third time but never come out, it will alert our care staff to check on them!

We are an all-inclusive community. This truly sets us apart from our competitors. We know that as seniors age, the do not get an increase in their income. With our all-inclusive pricing, residents can prepare for expected expenses with Legacy. In our assisted living, a great thing is that we know our residents will not be afraid to ask us for extra help when the time comes that they need it because they know it will not cost them anything extra. A lot of our competitors make you pay a base rent and then add care charges on top of that. That can result in more falls because a resident may fear the increase in cost and not ask for help. At Legacy, they will feel secure knowing they can get as much help as needed.

We want our residents to be CONNECTED, with our Legacy family, their family and each other.

We want our residents to be ACTIVE in our fitness center, in our common areas, in our movie theatre.

We want our residents to be PURPOSEFUL. All of our residents have a purpose!

We want our residents to be SAFE in a beautiful home setting.

At Legacy, our residents will enjoy a true culinary dining experience three times a day. Our food budget is 42% higher than the top ten senior communities in the nation! This means if you want table side guacamole at lunch, our chef will come out and make for you at your table side. We also have ALL DAY DINING. Our residents do not have scheduled times that they have to be down for meals. If they sleep in until 9:00, they can go order from the menu and have breakfast at 9:30! If they have a doctor’s appointment and miss lunch, they can come back to the community and order lunch from the menu and not have to go out to eat!

We have two enclosed beautifully landscaped courtyards with a waterfall.

We also are going to have CARE PREDICT! This is the MOST innovative senior technology. Our residents will not have metal keys. They will wear a device on their wrist which is waterproof. It is the key to their door with a microchip, it is a two-way radio to talk through to our staff and nobody in the COUNTRY has this! Beyond the simple nurse call system functions, we will now be able to know and measure, sleep patterns, movement patterns, dining patterns, social interaction patterns, changes in behavior, temperature, balance patterns, elopement risks as well as allowing our caregivers to communicate directly with our residents if they push their nurse call. Also, you will know exactly where any staff member or resident is at any point in time!

While looking for a place for my parents, we toured the Legacy at South Plains. It is a absolutely beautiful community. Feels like a nice hotel vs a nursing home. My mother is very picky and said the potato soup was delicious. That was a surprise. They seem to have very friendly staff. I am hoping my parents pick the legacy as their next home.

We were incredibly impressed with The Legacy. From their safety throughout the tour process to the personal visits we received from their marketer, Amy. Staff were all so incredibly friendly. We even got to sample some of their chefs food once we left. Absolutely delicious! Daddy will definitely be going here once he is done at rehab! It feels like home and we are excited for him to get to experience life at The Legacy.

The Legacy at South Plains was great. It seemed brand new. The people were very friendly. The place was very clean. The staff member who showed me around was very knowledgeable and informative. There was no pressure. The place was beautiful and professionally decorated. They have a barbershop, a family room which is very nice, a game room, and they go on outings. The dining room opens toward the front of the building. The people were being served restaurant-style when I visited, which was very nice.

The Legacy at South Plains was number one on my list, but it was more expensive than the other community. The place reminded me of a home. The staff showed me through some of the rooms that people actually lived in and they looked like home. The people were comfortable. There was really a homey-feeling. The staff was very good. She did a great job of showing me around and answering questions that I had. I saw lots of people doing lots of activities at this place. It was excellent. I saw a group doing an aerobic kind of game activity, there were some people playing cards and socializing with each other, and some of the people were walking around the place. They're pretty much keeping the residents active.

The area I visited at The Legacy at South Plains was for people that have dementia. They have cameras in all the common areas and everything looked great. The staff was very friendly, very understanding, and accommodating. The rooms had a refrigerator, a microwave, and a partial kitchen. They were nice and big. They're not furnished, and they don't put two people in a room, which is good.

This is the best assisted living facility Lubbock has to offer! It's new and beautiful and offers lovely amenities. What I appreciate is the staff and their dedication to the families and residents. The billing process is very straight-forward and they stand by their agreements. We had issues with this in the previous facility and so I was prepared to go to battle. These people have integrity. So refreshing! My mother is getting all the services that she needs and so there is no more complaining. I encourage you to check out this place!

We had a very good tour at The Legacy at South Plains. The meal we ate was excellent and the facility seemed really good. Most of the rooms were small, but it's a smaller facility. The staff was friendly and attentive. They have an exercise room, which seems like it would be useful. They have enough room for physical therapy. They also have a movie room.

The Legacy at South Plains is a new community with very nice facilities. It's great for my father. We really like it. The tour was very helpful. They allow you to bring in all your own things, and you're not forced to use their furniture. They have several different rooms and several different setups to choose from. The rooms were wonderful. We ate in their cafeteria, and the food was very good.

The Legacy has a new building, it's clean, and they've got new equipment. They've got a new gym, theater room, a little putting green, and the dining area was very nice. The sales staff was cooperative, and I liked that. However, they only have 1-bedroom apartments with a kitchenette, and the biggest apartment was too small. They haven't hired any staff yet.

The Legacy at South Plains is a new facility. It was a little pricey, and I wouldn't be interested at all in the living unit I toured, which was like a dormitory. There was no bathtub, just a shower, and there's no closet space. It couldn't accommodate me, and I wouldn't want to be in a cramped area. The staff was very friendly and made a lot of effort to answer all of my questions.
