Colonial Lodge at Terrell, Texas is a senior community located approximately 30 miles east of Dallas, Texas. We have been providing quality assisted living services for over 10 years.
Our community is totally dedicated to providing top-quality residential and personal services to seniors and their families. But, it goes far beyond the mere provision of services as each of our employees is personally challenged to preserve and enhance the quality of life for our residents and their families in everything they do. Actively and sincerely caring about the quality of our residents lives is what governs the way we conduct our business and what, we believe, sets us apart from the rest.
Regardless of your level of care, we offer a package of amenities we believe match the lifestyle you've been accustomed to.
- LVN on staff.
- Resident Assistants on duty 24/7/365.
- Three full meals every day served in our dining room restaurant-style by our staff. You choose from 2 entrees and varied side items and your meal is brought to your table by staff.
- Kitchenette in every apartment with a small refrigerator and a microwave. Trash pick-up daily.
- Weekly cleaning of your apartment. We use all our own cleaning equipment. We also change your bed linens for you.
- Weekly laundry. You place your items in a hamper and our friendly staff returns them to you folded and hung.
- Activities are scheduled throughout the week and we encourage you to participate and make new friends. Visit the Activity Gallery page to see our activity calendars.
- A beauty / barber shop is on-site.
- A diverse stocked library.
- Low impact exercise classes are offered Monday through Friday.
- Two emergency pull cords are in every apartment; 1 in the main living area and 1 in the bathroom.
- Cable TV service is provided. Telephone service is your responsibility and high-speed Internet is available through AT&T and the cable company.
- All utilities, excluding telephone, are included in your rent. Residents have access to telephones in the sitting areas.
- Every apartment has a stand alone air conditioning / heating unit. Your comfort is our goal!
- Personal items continue to be your responsibility. Local transportation is provided Monday through Friday so that you can access local stores, shops, banks, doctors, etc. However, if you do not want to shop, you can give a list to our driver and they will pick up what you need. For many of our residents, their family shops for their personal items/supplies.

My mother was a resident of Colonial Lodge. I was very happy about everything the facility had to offer. Her room was large enough and believe me she brought a lot from her home, to make it feel like home as much as possible. She would tell people "If I can not be in my home, this is the next best". There are a lot of fun activities for the residents to keep them busy, if they like. Kim and her staff are great. I could leave Mama knowing she would be taken care of. That is such a blessing. I cannot thank them enough. I also noticed how much the residents care about each other. I highly recommend Colonial Lodge. They will always be in my heart.

My Dad lived at Colonial Lodge for the last three years of his life. He was in his late 80's and began having the normal issues. We moved him to Colonial. He told us that if he couldn't live at home, this was the next best thing. He passed away in 2007. We are extremely grateful for the loving care he received in his latter years at Colonial Lodge! My mother in law is now a resident there and she is receiving the same great care. The administrator, Kim, is fantastic.

My mother is back at Colonial Lodge, and she is doing well. They provide a nice comfortable environment, the rooms are compact but nice, and the staff is really good. At this point, the staff really for us has gone out of their way helping our mother with a lot of stuff. So they have really done a great job from the folks that just kind of take care of her to the medical personnel. She is an RN, but basically she keeps up with her medication, etc. The room that she has is basically a single room with its own bath, and she has a little kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator, and then a bed, a little couch, and a television. They do not have any swimming pool or anything like that, but they do have an activities director. They do Bingo a couple of times a week, and they have people coming in with singing or musical stuff, they have Bible study, they have people come in and get their little jewelry thing set up if anyone wants to buy, they have got activities pretty well every day, as well as exercises. They have a daily exercise and activity list.
