I loved Tuscany Living Villas. It's beautiful, the people were great, the facility was gorgeous, the facilitators were very friendly, and the food was great. It was a perfect setting for my mother. They had a whole list of activities. It's a beautiful house in Cinco Ranch. It's on a cul-de-sac, the rooms were nice, the staff was nice, it's very clean, and it didn't smell. The menus looked fine. The person in-charge and the owner were all wonderful.

After spending two years in a nursing home we were blessed to happen upon Tuscany and have enjoyed the blessing for almost 3 years. The personal care is outstanding. The activities are interesting and varied to satisfy all the movement and cognizant needs of the residents. Mom is happy and healthy and that is such a relief on the family members. Visiting here is a pleasant experience because the home is a home and the atomosphere is welcoming and not clinical. Every one of the staff members are sweet, loving, attentive and properly skilled to care for Mom. We are thankful!

After living with my mom for many years through this terrible progression of Alzheimer's, and then having her in an Alzheimer's assisted living, I have found personal care homes a better solution. The staff to client ratio is smaller and she gets much more personal attention from employees whom have been there for quite some time-because they like their job. It is more of a home and not an institution. We have come to the conclusion, at least for my mom, hugs work better than drugs, and these people are able to provide more hugs to her. It is less expensive also. If you are going to pay a lot for mediocre care, why not pay less for better care? Of course every one knows -you must be vigilant in maintaining the standards of the agreements made upon admission regarding her special circumstances and daily activities, but the staff can make all the difference. We are fortunate that we have such a collaborative relationship, with the doctors, Hospice, nursing, and care staff and try to get the right things accomplished for the patient daily. Whereas in a larger facility, it is difficult to get all of the above on the same page -so to speak in a timely manner. I always keep in mind, no one will care for her , as you would, but this facility is caring. I will say, educate your neighbors, that personal care homes -facilities in a neighborhood -sometimes are not thought of fondly due to homeowners associations. These people can do no harm living there. These circumstances may apply to them or or a family member of theirs someday. And where would they rather their loved one be? By the way, I never give anyone a five star- but they do not not a 4.5. Thanks for asking. We just got lucky in finding this home. You must search till you are satisfied with a facility that really cares, and that is difficult to find.
