I'm a wound vac patient being seen 3 times a week for dressing changes since June. My biggest issue is with the referral/auth and business office because they have been very poor at obtaining and maintaining my orders such as supplies being delayed because paper work not sent over for a week. But the most disturbing thing is that I was due a visit from the nurse on Monday 3 days ago and I received a call from that nurse stating that the office told her not to come because I have no auth on file and that they were going to discharge me. This was the first I heard of any issues at this point. No one from the business office called to let me know that they did not have an auth (for a week!) or to let me know that they would have to discharge me. The nurse called me as a courtesy. She was not directed to call me and inform me of this. The fact that they didn't make an effort to pick up the phone and let me know there were issues is just poor customer service.....and to not notify me I'm being discharged at all has to be the worst practice management ever. And then, I had to end up obtaining all the information on my own and they still put me off on when they would deal with this. I realize there are going to be issues....but when the patient has to educate the staff on how to obtain a referral/auth and how to appeal claims that were denied says a lot about how competent the staff is. I was going to hold off on writing this because I was afraid that my treatment (still ongoing) would be affected but I felt compelled to do this so that other's would be aware of the issues. I did not pick my agency because I was in the hospital and was assigned this group by my case manager and I feel that because I had no say in the choice of provider makes it even worse. The only reason why I didn't give 1 star is because the nurse that comes out does a great job.

Due to an incomplete SCI at T10 -12, my husband needed Occupational Therapy, physical Therapy, and wound care. Occupational Therapy was great. But physical Therapy was lackluster. Sweet girl, but did not provide the aggressive therapy he needs in order to recover function. But by far the worst was the wound care. Again first nurse was great, only good things to say about her. Second nurse did not apply dressing correctly, causing skin irritation and multiple leaks with wound vac. Third nurse didn't even show for the first scheduled appointment with her. No call, no show. When she finally did show, she had no idea what she was doing. I had to show her and I'm not a nurse, just a wife who has been watching application of wound vac for 6 months. If I know more than they do, it's time to get a new service.

Interim HealthCare do home care for two hours a day. They are approachable, and they get back to me. I got their help for them for three days just for postoperative care. The caregiver was friendly and alright.

The team at Interim Healthcare of SW Houston was very impressive. They took care of me after surgery and all of the nursing staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and their entire team was very organized. I am so appreciative of them and would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

Interim Healthcare of Southwest Houston has been very good. I like them a lot. Dad has Alzheimer’s so they bathe, feed, and clean him. They read to him. I have no complaints about their punctuality, and attendance. I would definitely recommend them.
