Seven Acres gave only two to four day-notice to remove approximately 65 residents, including our parent, from their facility on the evening of September 25, 2017 . All selected residents have to be moved to other facilities by September 29, 2017. The residents and their families have very little time to select another facilities and they have no options to plea to stay with Seven Acres, regardless of other hardships that these families, including mine, were going through due to the Harvey flooding in Houston. It is extremely unfair and irresponsible for Seven Acres Board and Top Managements to have this kind of practice. They blamed on the state regulatory bodies to force them to make such decision due to over-crowding on the upper floor after the first floor was flooded and is under repair. The removal of these residents have nothing to do with the behaviors or financial situations of the residents. We were promised to have a smooth transition and all the supports from Seven Acres to transfer the residents, their medical records, other documents and belongings smoothly to another facilities. To our surprise, nothing is working right at Seven Acres. They do not have electronic copies of medical records. Their fax machine was broken and they could not email the medical records properly to the new facilities. It ended up the residents' families or the representatives of the new facilities had to go and pick up the hard copies of the medical records at Seven Acres. The whole day was lost just to get the medical records transfer to obtain acceptance approval from the new facilities. It was extremely stressful for the residents' families that had to move their loved ones within two to four days. On the day of transfer, Top Management of Seven Acres failed to make sure the staff did the transfer of residents and their belongings properly. They transferred our parent to a wrong facility, even though we have confirmed the name and location of the new facility of my parent to three different employees of Seven Acres, as well as, the driver of the transport van on the day of transfer. We had to track my parent down to re-transfer to the correct facility. The belongings and their wheel chairs are missing or mixed up while the residents were transferred. We tried to follow up and the Top Management was not helpful at all. We were kicked around to different personnel. To this day, we still do not know the whole truth. It makes you wonder whether it is really the state regulatory bodies that had given the two to four days notice to remove our loved ones. Seven Acres got to know the overcrowding problem since the flooding in August 2017. We wonder why these residents' families were not notified a month ago (i.e., in August 2017 , right after the flooding) Also, the removal of residents process is not transparent. We were told that the high-risk residents need to be removed due to health risk or due to low profit margin of these residents. Everything is questionable and the residents, the residents' families and even the employees were kept in the dark. This is a nightmare for any family who has loved ones at Seven Acres or other facilities that have poor management from the top!!!

My mother is doing rehab at Seven Acres. They have an assisted living place for follow up after she's done with rehab. The place is nice. My mother says things are progressing well, so they're doing a fine job with the rehabilitation. I saw the food and it looked very good to me.

DO NOT take your family member there. The staff is very uncaring at least in the assisted living part and the alzheimers unit - i have had family in both units and they are AWFUL! The director at the Assisted Living unit is about as bad as most of the employees to be honest - its a constant "oh yes, no you are right they should not do that.." and what happens? Nothing, they do not care about the residents at all. Its a nice place to look at - but the care is awful unless you want to hire your own personal aide which about 40-50% of the residents do. Just a heads up if you are thinking about that place...

My father was diagnosed with Dementia & Alzheimer's almost 5-years ago. in 2011, we had to move Dad to Seven Acres where he lived for over 4-years - on the Alzheimer's floor. The care and compassion shown to him during these last years was so much more than we could have hoped. We were at peace knowing he was treated with respect and love. We want to thank the entire staff, and especially those on the 2nd floor Miller unit for their love. Dad passed away a few weeks ago and the outpouring of caring meant more than they could ever possibly know.

Seven Acres was a Jewish retirement community. It was close, but I didn't like it. I could tell that their food service is just terrible. I looked at their menu, and it was just awful. The person I was talking to was very eager and knew what she was talking about. She was a good spokesperson, but I was just not impressed with the facility.

Very good care and a caring staff. My father is in the Dementia/Alzheimer's wing at Seven Acres - has been there for three years. He is very well cared for and I truly rest knowing there are those who are watching over him. I do thank God for Seven Acres and everyone there.

Their overall impression was at least better than other nursing homes I have visited so far, However, they don't pay their workers well,unlike other nursing homes but that may not matter, since they are non profit org.

My mother-in-law is a resident in the facility and I have always found it to be very clean and the front-desk staff is very attentive. The nursing staff is very responsive but not the friendliest and I have observed the nurses or aides tend to rush through when spoon-feeding the residents. However, I cannot find any reason why someone would not consider this facility for their loved one who needs special or nursing care. After having visited other nursing homes, this one has been the best, by far.

My mother has been at Seven Acres for about 3 years now. We know we made the right decision by choosing Seven Acres. The staff is loving and caring, they get to know you on a first name basis. They care about their patients. My mother has adjusted very well so much that often times when I have for the weekend, she will say "I'm ready to go HOME now". It makes me feel good that she thinks of Seven Acres as her home. They have alot of functions and activities for their folks. My mother stays very active. I am glad she is at Seven Acres.

Seven Acres was the home of my maternal grandparents for over 3 years. This facility truly stands out compared to others in Houston. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to socialize with my grandparents and other residents, and remembered my name when I visited each weekend. Everyone at this facility is treated with dignity and respect. The food is nothing special, but they work with any doctors orders or special diets. You can bring in outside food, but only kosher food is allowed in the dining hall. They have organized activities every day that all residents are invited to. They also have an in-house gift shop, bank, and barber shop. There is a small aviary with a collection of birds; this area is great for socializing in the shade and keeping little kids entertained.I would recommend Seven Acres for anyone looking for a caring facility for their loved ones! They also have a more intensive nursing facility for those suffering from Alzheimer's and those needing more acute care, but my grandparents never used that area so I can't comment on it.

This is an extraordinary facility. The caring staff helps both the resident and their families.
