Please beware of paying in advance for any services. My dad was at Park Manor of CyFair from mid July to the date of his passing on August 1. Mom paid the facility on July 31, the day before his death, for services in advance for the month of August. She asked on the Aug 1 if they could hold the check. The business office said that the check had already been deposited, though I doubt this. Our mistake, of course, for not putting a hold on the check but other things were on our minds. The money was to have been returned ($4890) as soon as possible according to the administrator. As of this date Oct 4, nine weeks later, and after very many calls to understand the reason for the money not having been returned, we have no indication it will be returned without resorting to some type of judicial process.

We found Park Manor of Cyfair. It was close enough for my dad, and they accepted Medicaid. It seemed to be great. We’ve only had my mom there for about three weeks, and everything we’ve seen so far has been OK, and she seems to be pretty happy. Right now, I don’t have any complaints; so far, so good.

My dad is in Park Manor Cyfair. If I had another way, I wouldn’t put my dad in any of them. But I can’t take care of him daily, so I’ve got issues with them. He has a shared room; it’s small and kind of grub. The nursing staff is excellent; the front office is OK. I just have some problems with the clerk. The services and amenities are average. He had some clothes that have disappeared from washing so I don’t know if its housekeeping or what.

My father stayed here recently. Their therapists were very good. They worked well with my dad and were kind and knowledgable. However, the level of care my dad received declined over the 20 days that he was there. He was only showered twice. Both times were after we requested it and the second time was only upon our pleading. Same goes with being shaved. He fell out of bed when he first got to the facility and the doctor ordered the bed to be turned against the wall and he ordered a bed alarm. Neither were done quickly and the bed alarm was rarely turned on. In fact, upon telling the caregivers there about the alarm and that it needs to be turned on, most of the time their reaction was that they had no idea there even was one (and this was towards the end of his stay there). My dad sat in wet diapers for a very long time. We were at the facility often enough to see that they rarely changed his diapers. I could go on about our negative experiences here. We were very happy to move my dad out of this facility.
