I liked that Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem was a secure facility. You had to wear masks going in. Immediately when you came in, there was a receptionist and then you had to go to this device that read your temperature. You sign in as a visitor and they take your picture. I liked that. We didn't set up an appointment, but they immediately saw us and we were able to talk to the managing person for admissions. She was very knowledgeable and walked us through the process. People were walking and everybody was greeting each other even before they saw us and that was huge for me. It just means that it's naturally a friendly and respectful environment. The facility was super clean. They provide rehab, and they would do in-room dining and would also assign the person dining room access. It was a really good structured program. They're very keen on knowing the dietary needs of my father-in-law, too, and the nurse would be there to assist him with eating if needed.

Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem was clean. It smelled good when you went in there. The lady was very helpful and she explained the prices to us. She took the time to explain it. She took time with us and that's what we needed to feel good about taking mom over there. The only thing is when I called back and they found out that I might need hospice care, they didn't return phone calls or they didn't return my email. I didn't get a response back. We liked the facility and everything and everything they were saying, but they never called back to verify anything. They need to have some empathy when people are calling about their loved ones. They had a rehab place and all of the modern amenities for the people there, that's why we wanted my mother to go. When they found out that she perhaps was going to need hospice, all of a sudden, I didn't get any more phone calls back. They do hospice if the patient was already there for skilled nursing, but just bringing mom in under hospice won't do.
