My husband is in CelesteCare Horseshoe Bay. They have assisted living and memory care units. It's very small, but they're nice and spacious. They have activities, nice meals, and they have care providers. I've been very pleased with it. The rooms are nice. They have a room they can set up for respite care. They play dominos and they have an activities director. She has singing groups that come out and perform and sometimes they encourage participation. She had a group of young children out last Saturday and she also has a worship group that comes in. She's done a remarkable job.

CelesteCare Horseshoe Bay was very nice. Everybody seemed very helpful and friendly. It's a very small facility with about 16 rooms. My mother's much more socially active and we thought she would just be terribly bored there. The director was very nice and helpful. The staff does home-cooking stuff and the cooking and dining facilities seemed nice. They were just a little lacking on the activities.

My mother is in CelesteCare Horseshoe Bay. It's a very nice place. It's a place where the residents can have their dignity still because there's a difference between a nursing home and an assisted living facility. It's nice, and it's a small community with 15 people total. They have the time to care for the residents individually. The staff is very patient and caring. Right now, which is Christmastime, they're making stockings, hanging them, making decorations to hang, and they have a small band that comes and plays. She has a little bit of dementia so she doesn't do a lot of activities, but they have Bingo and they're always having activities. It's a very clean facility. Her room is long and it's rectangular shaped, so you can just go straight and then get off your walker, get to your bed, go to your chair, and go to the restroom.

I used Celeste Care Assisted Living & Memory Care (formerly Spanish Trails) for respite care with my mother. It was a brand-new, very clean facility in a country setting with a hospital nearby. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and caring, and they have an activities director. Mom liked the food a lot.

I was very impressed with Spanish Trail. Their staff was very courteous, and kind. The rooms are very nice, well kept, and very clean as well. They showed me their laundry facility, and it was very organized. They were on top of my list of trying to get my dad in there.

Spanish Trail is fairly small in size. It is a new facility. It has only been open for six months or so. It is a very lovely facility. It has a large community room. The dining room and the kitchen are all open. The rooms are very comfortable size -- again all new. Each room has a small kitchen area and a nice size bathroom. It is big enough to have a living and bedroom area. It is more like a studio apartment. The staff so far has been very caring and very social. Families are welcome to come in at any time. There is always someone there if you call or if you have any kind of questions. They can accommodate doctor's appointments if you are not able. They have outings for the residents. There is a beauty salon on site. For mother-in-law, it is ideal because she would become lost in some of the really large facilities, and this one is very nice for her. It is managed very well. It is privately owned.
There is a staff member that conducts activities for the residents during the week. They have games, arts, and some crafts. They go out to eat at least twice a month. They go to the public library. What they could improve on is the communication with the various physicians that the patient might be seeing -- e.g. sort of coordinate those visits more precisely. The food is good. I also like the fact that family is welcome and encouraged which is really important. One thing I really like about Spanish Trail is that there is a set fee, and whatever level of care you need, it is the same cost.

We moved mom to Celeste Care Assisted Living & Memory Care (formerly Spanish Trails) last August. We chose this for its location and also because I like it. Mom likes it too. We like the size of the facility, the whole appearance and décor, and also the people. It is just assisted living. The staff do excellent care and care about the residents. It's not about them and making money, it's about the residents. The facility is very small. It has only 16 beds so it can be personable with the staff. They do encourage activities. They would offer things for the residents to do, but it's pretty much up to them whether if they want to join in and participate or not. As for the food, it is fine.
