Heartis Waco is very clean, and it has a welcoming atmosphere. The residents there appeared happy and were playing games. Some were eating in the dining room when I went. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I just had a good experience with them. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They have a library and a theater, and they were adding an exercise room. They have some exercise equipment. I like the fact that they have outings, play games, and have set activities for the residents as well.

Heartis Waco is an extremely nice assisted living place, but it was not within my budget. Basically, for two people, it's over $7000 a month. It's extremely nice but it's extremely expensive. And if they're transferred to memory care, it's an automatic extra thousand dollars a month. It's over $9000 for memory care. Everything at that facility is wonderful except for the price. There is not one thing at that facility to complain about other than, since it's coming out of your pocket, you need to have a lot of money. That is the only thing. It's $3950 for a one-bedroom one-person, and you have to be fully functional on your own because everything else is pretty much a thousand dollars added to that for everything you need. Their menu was really good. They had a variety on their menu and it changes daily.

We've looked at Heartis in Waco, and it was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable and very well informed. The facility was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were very nicely laid out and very clean. We saw the dining area; they were having a happy hour. Right now, it's obviously different -- it was spaced out due to COVID -- but it's a very nice, large area. It's a very good location. It's right off a major thoroughfare but far enough away that you won't hear the noise from it. It's a little bit out of town for some people but convenient for others; it just depends on which side of town you live. I would have no qualms about putting my mother-in-law there.

Heartis is the friendliest place I've visited. There's quite a unity among the residents. Most in assisted living are very independent and come and go as they please. The activity programs are great. It's a good thing they have a bus to travel to places of interest.

Heartis Waco was brand new having opened in April 2016. They had a beauty shop, a visiting masseuse, and a movie room. It's a little small, but they had all the same amenities as most of the bigger places. It was the only place I saw with a decent-sized refrigerator with a decent-sized freezer for an apartment.
