My grandmother has been living at Elmcroft of Irving. They were having a small issue with their life call button, but other than that, it has been pretty good overall. The staff has been pretty nice. Overall, the atmosphere is pretty good. The rooms are good and I like them. They're nice and quite spacious. The place is pretty clean. The dining area is really big, nice, and they encourage the residents to eat there rather than in their rooms, which is a good thing because they get them active in the community. They play games and they have a puzzle corner. They also have entertainers coming in like singers. They do different activities. They have a little courtyard, like a garden center. It's a good community, and I like Don who's in charge. He gives a lot of information, and he's very knowledgeable about the process of Medicaid and senior living. My grandmother is in their level two program and needs mobility assistance.

My mother is a resident of Elmcroft of Irving. Their employees are very caring, their grounds are very well-kept and the location is handy. The food is good. I think the price is very reasonable compared to others. It seems like a friendly place. I talked to my mother yesterday and she's happy there.

My mother has been a resident of Elmcroft of Irving for two months now. I talked to the director and he answered almost every question I had. They walked me around the facility, and I saw people out playing bingo as we walked through. The facility smelled clean. I got a nice feeling from it. I met every one of the facilitators there all the way down to the caretakers who take care of so many rooms. The rooms were clean, painted, and decent. The guy worked with me, and I explained to him what we're up against. My mother does need a lot of assistance, and they're goimg beyond the call. They come and get her and take her down because she's wheelchair bound. There's a physical therapist who comes in. She has had some medication issues. They called me, alerted me, put her in the ambulance, and took her to the hospital, and I met them there. That's how quick and fast this went. They're always checking on her. It's a small unit. The dining facility and the public bathrooms are clean. The people are extremely nice. I couldn't get to her because of the flu, so they went in and made sure she had her Depends. It's a great facility, and it seems like these people care. I was there today with her ,and she fell, so I ran out in the hall and they came in and helped me. They had a nurse tech come in and check her head, her back, and everywhere else before they moved her, and she's OK. For the care that she's getting and for what I'm paying, I feel very comfortable. I can actually come home and breathe knowing she's going to be OK. She's got a monitor around her neck and a monitor that she can pull attached to her bed. I like that they have nightlights in every room that's backed up by generators, and they're built into the wall. The food is very well balanced and very well portioned. They have a library and a gazebo or an enclosed sitting place outside. They have a lot of amenities.

My mom really liked Elmcroft; it was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The grounds were very well-maintained, and the apartments were very clean and very well-kept. There were no formal activities set up, but they have scheduled classes. They have a lot of safety amenities, and the price was comparable to the others. I would recommend them.

Elmcroft of Irving was so much like a nursing home. It looked like they had a good menu. The rooms were definitely small. There was a lot of constructions going on, which I understand, but it just wasn’t inviting. I wasn’t impressed with this community.

Elmcroft of Irving is a very nice place, but I am not really big on the location. The rooms were OK, but I wasn't too impressed. It's a very well-run operation. I thought the advisor was really nice, and I liked her approach and concern. She was very helpful as far as getting my dad set up through a contact and getting assistance because he is a veteran. You can sign up to ride in a van if you need to go to the doctors or to Walmart or wherever you want to go.

The lady at Elmcroft of Irving gave me a lot of good information. However, we walked down the halls, nobody was really out, and people had their doors open. Most of them were in bed. It was more of a convalescent type place, and my mom is not like that at all. She is very active. The rooms seemed to be OK. It just wasn't something for my mom.

Elmcroft was a very nice facility. We enjoyed it. The only problem was the price. It was getting way out of control. It was sky rocketing every 6 months, and we just couldn't afford it anymore. That was the only reason we left. The place was very clean. They had very friendly staff. It was a very nice home, and they kept it up really nice. I would recommend it, if they could afford the price

I am a daughter and the night staff at Elmcroft in Irving are horrible. My Dad got sick in the middle of the night in October 2011 and slipped into a COMA and was not found until the next morning when the outside healthcare attendant came to visit and immediately called the family by that time it was too late. He died later that night. My Mom was also staying at the facility and one night in November 2011 she actually wondered out of the facility and was found by a garbage attendant and the police at 4:00 in the morning. The alarm on the door went off, but they had been having issues with it and thought it was another false alarm and did not check. The police were very upset and stated this was not the first time they found a patient outside of the facility. Hope it has changed, but the constant fear that she was not being monitored as she should led us to remove her immediately from this facility.

They were really trying to correct a lot of issues that are going on like maintenance wise and they are still looking for a community director. With regards to the staff, there are some good ones and some bad ones. During the week is good, but the weekend staffing is not good. We did have a good experience with Irving.

I am a resident here at Elmcroft of Irving. Though there have been changes here in the Adminstration one needs to keep in mind is that there were great employees here. But most of all is that no one indivual can please everyone. There will always be disgrunted employees and residents.

We were almost ready to move my grandmother out, however, in just the past couple of weeks, you can see and feel things are changing for the better! Now, I would certainly encourage people to come take a look if they're needing a good place for their family -- we really believe this is the right place for Gram.

I am a resident at this facility and had some concerns about the management so I contacted corporate and voiced my concerns. I was pleasantly surprised at how prompt they were in addressing my inquiries. Changes are being made and I feel like they are for the better. I am looking forward in doing my part in helping make our community become a role model that Elmcroft Senior Living can be proud of. We have a good group of people that care about the residents and are always doing what they can to make each and every resident feel at home. I would strongly recommend Elmcroft of Irving to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.
