We chose VIP Living Centers-Irving for my mother-in-law. It's a renovated home that provides the perfect care for her so far. She has only been there for about three weeks, but so far, it is looking good. First of all, it was very difficult to find a place that could take her with her condition, she has dementia. They have a low number of people there. There are only 8 residents, they're all on wheelchairs, and they're all women. So she is feeling comfortable about that. We now know almost everybody in the staff and the patrons there. So it seems to be an easy place to get involved with each person, which makes it a home. The staff members are of angel quality. They need foods that don't fall off the fork. The food is aimed towards their physical capability, typically. They have constant activities, that's one of the good things. They typically always have at least three on staff there, to provide all the services for them. They're all close to each other, so you're never in a corner by yourself. They have constant activities like bingo, music, and the manager goes there to play piano for them often. A lot of the nurses are talking to them constantly. The residents watch TV, their capability is very, very limited. So conversation and feeling included are some of the biggest activities they have. It's an extremely smooth operation getting from one area to the next area. There are no rugs or carpets to trip over; everything is designed for them. And so, it's very safe. It's expensive, but it's well worth it because they're doing everything for us. And it's a relief for the family.
