My family and I admitted my 94-year old father who battled dementia into Onpointe in Arlington 5 months ago. He stayed there 3 weeks. I wasn't able to be present when he arrived on a Friday afternoon. The next day I visited him, and was thoroughly and completely appalled at his condition. I took shocking photographs of my father halfway out of bed (he had just had hip surgery), uncovered and naked. I texted the photo to the intake coordinator and told her this was unacceptable. It's my understanding that, within a few minutes, 3 managers then had a conference call and began to make sure that he got the appropriate level of care that he should be getting. After that, I went into the hallway and looked in desperation for any help to begin to correct and protect my father by placing him in the bed correctly, covering him with a gown and blankets and re-placing the oxygen tube that had fallen out. Because I work full-time and live 90 minutes from the rehab facility, I could only visit sporadically at night and on weekends; if you are familiar with healthcare, you know that nights and weekends are limited staff causing the quality of care to spiral downward. The hallways and the nurse's station were invariably empty of staff. When I called OnPointe, whether during a weekday, night or weekend, more than 50% of the time the call rang for over 3 minutes and - as is normal for unanswered calls - the call was disconnected. Thankfully, the Social Services coordinator was responsive to email and text, although I did have to remind her on various points to get back to me. We could not get my father out of OnPointe fast enough. For these reasons, I absolutely cannot recommend OnPointe Arlington Rehabilitation Services in Arlington TX.

My wife was at OnPointe. She had been treated for pain on morphine, and when they discharged her, they had taken her off of it. They didn't give her any morphine or a prescription to take home, so she was back in the hospital about a day or later. OnPointe is on top of the hospital, and the room itself was pretty comfortable. It's more of a hospital type and sterile atmosphere. She had problems getting service like getting her diaper changed and getting her meds. They had physical therapy and a couple of places where you could visit with your relatives.
