Mom has been here for over 6 years. The building has had updates because of water damage. The staff turnover is often disruptive. A lot of the services we were promised when Mom rented are no longer available because the building was sold. Staff that are there are amazing. Friendly and courteous. The food is inedible. When Mom moved in the food was great, not 5 star but healthy and good. Now they get potatoes and rice or pasta together. Very seldom do they get fresh veggies. They're given boxed sandwiches for dinner. It's a joke we pay so much and they complain to the residents that food cost too much to give them good meals. Housekeeping is hit or miss. Entertainment is much less often that at the beginning. They still take field trips every 6 months or so, not every two months like they told us. It's hard to get a ride to the Dr if you need. The rooms Mom has are quiet and comfortable. Large enough for her. The carpet is very worn, was not new when she moved in. The hallways are dark. The elevator breaks down often. The prices just went up again and the service continues to go down.

My grandmother lives there presently and every time it rains the windows in her bedroom and living room leak so badly both rooms flood. To make matters worse Emerson knows and 1) hadn't even attempted to fix the issue 2) make an almost 90 year old woman get on her knees to clean it up. The food is terrible and sine you couldn't eat if you had to. Transportation is available like advertised. They are too lazy to make multiple trips to the store so everyone can go. If you dont get in as 1 of the 16 the bus holds you dont get to go unless you beat someone on the next time. No maintenance staff, hence the windows (going on over a year I might add). Sure everything is included in the price but for the service provided vs promised you will be paying way too much. Plus for this establishment residents shouldn't be an employee too.

I'm looking for a place for my mother so during tours, I'm kind of observing and watching people, the staff specifically, to see how they interact with the residents. I liked what I saw at Emerson South Collins because it's obvious that the residents have a good relationship with the staff based on the smiling faces and the activities that I observed there. There's plenty for the residents to do, and it's not like everybody shuts themselves in. There were quite a few people out and about. I think we toured the facility around lunchtime, so there were people eating lunch. Another good thing to see was that I can see the food that was being posted.
Everything looks good and I would not mind putting my mother there. The only hiccup right now is the location. I have to see if there are any others around this area and what kind of price they're talking about because the price in this facility is too high for the premises that I saw.
The staff who did the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable. She's also kind and friendly, and you could tell that she had a good rapport with the other staff. It wasn't like it was a forced thing. She took a genuine interest in us, and that's what I liked the most.

Emerson S. Collins Senior Living was good, clean, and orderly. The staff during the tour was great, friendly, and informative and seemed to know everybody. I just looked at the menu, and it seemed a good variety and interesting food. We saw the movie room where they watch movies, the game area where they have board games and dominoes, the library, and the outdoor area where there were walking paths. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nice. They were doing some renovations.

Kudos to Ed, current Executive Director for redesigning and restoring the building and community spirit. Huge thanks to Esta, the welcoming smile of Emerson. She is why I felt confident to move my Mom here. The residents have become dear friends to both of us. Mom is 'as happy as a clam.' Thank you!

It was updated, decorated nicely, and clean. We chose it, and my mother-in-law moved in last June 30. She has a one-bedroom, with kitchenette and two-burner stove, a full-size refrigerator, and they repainted it, and got it all fresh and ready for her to move in. I love the staff, and the service is awesome. We had meals there, and it's a busy community with lots of activities. They seem to be constantly doing something with the residents. They have crafts, bingo, Bible study, painting class, go out in the community, get ice cream one day, and do puzzles.

It is awesome and we're very happy with it. The staff is just super friendly and they know everybody. I just feel comfortable having my dad there because I know that they pay attention to each one of the residents each day, so if something changes or something's going on, they're able to recognize it right away. My dad has been there for a little while and he really enjoys the food. They get a couple of choices at lunch time. The food is really good, and they have coffee and water on stands set up all over the place. They have a lot of amenities that they offer. They go to different stores and it doesn't cost anything. They also take longer trips to the casino, day trips, and fishing trips.

The residents are very friendly. They have lots of activities, like bingo, a choir, and church services. The provide three meals a day for the food, which my parents like. They have a nice one-bedroom with a kitchenette. The location is easy to get to off the freeway, and they have walking areas and covered porches for them to sit on and relax.

The residents at were all happy. They had lots of activities that they could go do. The community was for people that were healthy. It smells great, and they keep everything clean. You could look at the baseboards, and you could tell that they’re clean because the top of the baseboards are clean. I like the cleanliness of it and the employees; as you pass them, they’ll greet you.
My brother is in a private room with a little kitchenette, a microwave, a full-sized refrigerator, and a nice, big restroom with a shower. It had plenty of room for his furniture. If any family has any problem, they’re there to fix it. They’re really good. We’ve been real happy with them.

It was a very nice place. I had lunch with one of the directors there who was very nice. I was able to see one of the apartment complexes, but they didn’t have any 2-bedrooms to show. Everything was clean, and the people were very nice. I have noticed there are not very many people or residents, and I have to wonder why. The location was good, and they provided transportation to doctor’s appointments and had activities for the residents.

It was gorgeous and clean, and everyone was very nice during the one day I saw them. As far as I could tell after one day, the cleanliness was fine.

We’ve been very pleased with them. The staff has been welcoming and helpful. My mom found it a very nice place. They have daily activities like card games, and people come there and perform music. The local library comes in regularly. The dining room is very attractive, and the service is good. My mom said good things about the food. I like everything about it.

It had two feedings instead of one. Everybody's kind of rushed out of the dining room so that other people can come in, and when you come in, they don't have anything laid out on the table. The meals are a big event of the day, so they need to figure out how to just have one feeding and set the table ahead of time. This was a larger facility, so it's more confusing to get around, and it had a colder feel to it. However, they have buses to appointments, they have help available that you can pay for, a barber shop on site, and cleaning services.
