My aunt has been a resident there or 10 months. I can't say enough about to patience of the leadership and staff. The facility is very nice and the individual rooms AR very nice as well. There are a lot of activities for the residence and everyone seems to enjoy the meals. I've been very happy with my decision to place my aunt that New Haven.

The people in New Haven of Wylie are very helpful. The rooms are not quite as big, but they are clean. I was impressed with the staff. The facilities were very nice. The lunch that I had was very good; everything was homemade. I liked that place. The staff was very helpful, and they seemed to be very caring with the people. They were having lunch, so I had lunch with them and I was impressed with the staff that were helping the people. They have some physical therapy, movie nights, and game nights. The dining area was very nice and very homey. It was very clean. It's only about two years old. They have patio areas so people can go outside.

Mom lived here from Jan-Oct of last year. She declined quickly while there. We found out she was over medicated during the day due to not sleeping at night. Medication was ordered for sleep but the nurse never transcribed it to the medication administration sheet so it was never given. Corporate gal swept it under the rug, and really seemed not to care. The rooms were nice sized, but non ambulatory residents were sat in the living room all day and had very little activity. Most activities were held in the AL building, and the memory care residents were left in front of the tv most of the time. One activity was to give them play dough. Mom ate her blue play dough, because of little supervision. As a nurse with well over 20 years experience, I chose to move mom to another memory care facility with structured activities for dementia/ Alzheimer’s. Though the Assisted Living is nice, I do not recommend this facility for Memory Care

New Haven of Wylie has two buildings,; memory care and one assisted living, and mom will be going into the assisted living facility. It's brand new, it has granite, and it's more like a house instead of apartments. There were only 14 residents in each facility and it's very small. The nurse director was very nice and very helpful. The dining area was a large kitchen where the residents can go any time and they have individual tables for four people. There's a beauty shop in the back, a game room, and there's a piano in there.
