This place is HORRIBLE!!! Stay FAR away!! My grandmother moved in here directly from the hospital and ESCAPED on her first day. She was brought back to the facility by a McKinney police officer after 911 was called by a few very kind pedestrians.
Let me clarify the condition of my grandmother. She has Leukemia, lung cancer and is extremely under weight. All therapy has been discontinued. She is on an end of life plan. She’s fragile and moves slowly. This tells me that no one had checked on her for an extended period of time for her to get out of her room, down the hall, out the door, walk clear across the property and al the way to Lake Forest. She hasn’t walked that far in MONTHS! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?! Under qualified staff members with no safety protocols in place.
To make things worse, we were trying to contact her while this was going on. We called her room several times with no answer. We eventually called the front desk and were told they would have her call us ASAP. Maybe if they would have gone to let her know we were trying to get ahold of her, they would have found that she was missing from her room.
My father called the next day to transfer her to another facility. They took ALL day to complete their portion of the process. Was it so they could collect their dues for a full 24 hours? Probably.
If you care about your loved one, their safety and their supervision, choose a different facility.

My father was released from Baylor McKinney with a discharge directive to be sent to skilled nursing on a Friday evening. My father never saw a nurse all weekend, they did not have his meds ready upon arrival, there were no bed alarms or railings on the small, uncomfortable beds. Additionally there was absolutely no therapy all weekend long. My father was left alone slumped over in a wheelchair unattended with other residents in the common area for who knows how long. There is no staff or security at the front entry area all weekend anyone can come in at any time- there is not staff and those that are there do not answer the nurse call buttons in a timely manner they just let it ring. Overall, make sure you push the hospital for in patient rehab vs skilled nursing, as skilled nursing means old style nursing homes, there's no skill and there's no nursing going on here.

My husband was in Belterra Health and Rehabilitation for physical therapy. It was OK, but the rooms were a little small, and the bed was not comfortable. The liaison was very friendly, and they have a lot of activities. I didn't like the food. When they dismissed my husband, they just rolled him to the front door in a wheelchair, took the wheelchair back, and left him with a cane.

My mother is in Belterra Nursing and Rehabilitation. The rooms are small, they feel cramped, they don't feel at home, and they don't like it, nobody does. It feels like you're in jail. The staff changes every other week. They may get two decent meals the whole week. The only good thing about it is they do have their own rooms. They don't have to share. It has changed owners four times.
