My mom is currently staying in Monticello West. She has been there for a year now. It is a beautiful property. It is very tastefully decorated. The staff that works there (including the directors, the nurses, and the people at the desk) are all very helpful and very friendly. My mom is happy there. They have an activities director that goes out of her way to try to create activities that are inclusive of all different types of people. It's a quiet, safe, beautiful place, and it's not as expensive as most of the other comparable ones. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating, and they go out of their way to try to meet everyone's needs. Food is OK; it's pretty average. Some days are better than others. They had a great chef in the past, but he left. They have another chef there now, and it's average. They offer rented units where you pay a monthly fee for the fully furnished down to the linen. That's what my mom did for the first year. There's a kitchenette that has a microwave and a refrigerator. They have a laundry service every week that is included in the price, but you can also do it yourself if you are wanting to. It's down the hall in a separate room.

Making the decision to move a family member from independent living to assisted living is a big one. And In our case we were moving my mother from CA to TX. The staff at Monticello are exceptional. They were so helpful to me with coordinating and preparing for her arrival. The entire staff made her feel so welcomed. Sadly my mother suddenly passed peacefully in her sleep 3 months after her arrival. But my mom told me ever time I saw her that she’d never been so happy. She participated in all the activities and came to know both all the residents and the staff by name. I was so touched to hear the wonderful stories of all the fun she had with her new friends. We never expected my mother to pass so soon. But I am truly blessed to know that her time at Monticello gave her so much joy I am enterally grateful. She loved her room which I was allowed to decorate in her favorite color pink and she was always raving about all the delicious food. And her telling stories of she and her friends laughing till they cried playing the nightly games. Monticello was truly an amazing gift I was able to give my mother. The staff will always hold a special place in my heart and I highly recommend them.

The facility is very comfortable and not at all institutional with a fish tank in living room, enclosed courtyard and separate yard with putting green.. The rooms offer sink, fridge and microwave and the bathrooms are spacious and well equipped for safety. Literally every single staff member greets me and is friendly when I visit and the management was over-the-top helpful in getting paperwork and more ready for move-in.The rooms are close to sound-proof and spacious. MW screens everyone for temp & Covid protocols are in place. My dad loves the food and dining is offered as in a restaurant with a menu & table service and has been a great venue for my dad, who is grieving the recent loss of my mom, to meet others. The community members are extremely friendly and they provide companionship and support from shared experience that I could not. Additionally dad's new friends are coaxing him out of his dementia related isolation and invite him to join them in activities. MW has several activities each day including physical and mental exercise/games and a bus provides transport to and from doctors within a 5 mile radius. Nurses are attentive and on staff and medication management is included and that is a blessed relief as I was totally stressed trying to figure out what to give when! My dad chose Monticello West for his new home and I am thankful that he did, they are better partners care-giving than I had hoped for.

My initial observations are that the entire staff, regardless of position, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Assisted Living place where my Mom was before, suddenly closed the operation and gave the residents 30 days to find a new place to live. I reached out to a Senior Advocate and they gave me several recommendations to look into that were within our price point. The first one I talked to and the first one I visited was Monticello West in Dallas. I was myself made to feel very welcome and comfortable, however on the next visit where I brought my Mom over see the place, and her potential apartment and to have lunch there, Mom could not have been treated better. Monticello West knew many of those that were evicted needed to find a place quickly and within their budgets. The management team were very accommodating and within I think two days Mom was a soon to be tenant. While she has only been there a few days, she love the place, the staff and especially the food. I am confident things will only continue to be better. Mom has not been happy at any of the previous locations and for the first time, she is very happy there. And as they say, if Mom is happy, we are all happy.

I was looking for a home for my dad, so I went on a website to help with my search, this was Saturday. Sunday early while I was at the gym working off stress, I received a phone call from Mrs. Nan. I felt as if this was a blessing from God, she stated, "Mark this is the perfect place for your Dad". I knew right then, this was right. I met with the Mrs. Nan, staff and the Facility right away. The rooms are in great condition and the interactions with patient/staff is outstanding. There are a lot of activities at the facility to keep your love one very active. The food at this facility is prepared by a top notch staff and taste awesome. I felt like I was at a 5 star restaurant. I was very impress that the resident order their food like they are at a restaurant. This assist living has a great place for resident to go outside to chill, movie room, a place to socialize and place to enjoy many activities with other. They also have a great screening process to prevent the spread of COVID 19. Mrs. Nan and Mrs. Rene did everything possible to make sure this place was the perfect fit for my Dad. Thank you both so much!!! Christian

Michael and the entire staff at Monticello West are amazing! They made a difficult situation seamless and easy! My husband and I cannot thank the entire staff enough for making my father in law’s transition warm and welcoming. Our father in law loves all of the people and his new home! We cannot recommend Monticello West enough!

We looked at this facility for my mom in addition to several others and chose Monticello West over all of them. Actually my mom chose this based on the "feel" of it. She has only been there for a month, but already we are impressed with the staff and service. Everyone is friendly and welcoming - staff and residents, both. The food and care staff are far better than those in her last facility. The rooms seem to be a little larger than most of the others we visited. The amenities seem to be very well appreciated by the residents, and it looks like many of the residents are participating in the activities, which speaks highly of the staff to get them involved. Because my mom moved in just as seniors had gotten their COVID vaccines, the activities were just starting back up, as well as dining. My mom likes the food and the offerings for meals. And we feel that she is in a very secure and well-managed place where the staff loves and cares well for the residents. We would absolutely recommend Monticello West. As she gets more settled, I'm sure our impressions in all areas will improve to "Excellent" ratings. It's really more of a 4.5 star rating at this time!

We visited Monticello West, and it's the community we decided on for my friend. We chose it because of its location and the cost of it being better. It's an older facility, but it's been completely remodeled, so it's in excellent shape. The staff has been excellent, really helpful and friendly, even my friend commented on how friendly everybody has been. Because of this whole COVID thing we only got to see the main area where the dining hall and entryway was. The dining area was very nice, very clean, and you could tell it was recently decorated. It was a little bit more ornate than my style, but it was very nice and very well-lit. The living atmosphere was very pleasant. It is near the freeway, but it is real close to a very nice neighborhood where homes are probably extremely expensive. Half a block away there's a nice walking trail, and a lot of people in the independent living said they take walks there, which I would imagine they do because it's in a very nice area. It's definitely in a city with high-rises nearby, but I think it's a pretty pleasant place to walk in. The entryway has a carpet, it all looks like it's fairly new, and has a nice quality. I would walk in and go, "Oh yeah, this is a nice place, they have nice quality decor." However, this was only place I visited without a swimming pool.

Mom is on a "between" floor in Monticello West because she's not fully ambulatory, but she's not in the memory care unit. If I ask them to clean her carpet or do things, they do it. The take care of her needs, meals, and laundry. She's in her own private room, which she loves. I never had any issues and things seem to be going fine. They seem to be pretty much the same with consistency every day which is a good thing. Mom gets her showers when she's supposed to and seems to be fine. The downstairs where the main dining room is is really lovely and decorated seasonally. The people on Mom's floor have their own dining room because these folks aren't that ambulatory. It's a public facility but it's not dirty. Instead, everything is really pleasant and cheerful. The staff on Mom's floor is probably the least consistent; on other floors, it's the same staff and her floor tends to rotate staff too often so they don't get to know the residents like they should. Old people tend to get confused and don't want to have to keep telling people where their stuff is. The food is one thing that Mom complains about since it's not that good.

Monticello West is kept very nicely. Their staff seemed to really care for their residents. My grandmother is really not in the stage where she has the energy to do much of anything, but they do offer lots of activities. The food generally is good. I've seen them play bingo and go to church every Sunday. I have also seen them do chair exercises.

I am in Monticello West, and it is well-organized. The lady who runs it and the people who work here are very nice. They all work together. I am very comfortable, big room. I have a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a large bedroom with furniture. They serve the food in my room, and it is very good. The facility is very clean, and they have people clean it all the time.
