My dad has been staying at Castro County Nursing & Rehabilitation. It's a nursing home. The process was really easy and he likes it there. There are a lot of activities like bingo and movie nights, so he seems to be enjoying them. It's nice and clean too. All of the staff are very friendly and very helpful. Right now, he's got a single room, but it's sort of a double room, so at some point he will have another person in there. It's a regular type of nursing home where you usually have two people in the same room. He has his own bathroom though. They do have a memory care wing too, I just don't know anything about it. I know that they have a physical therapy room, but since my dad doesn't need physical therapy he hasn't used that. They do have some outside areas but I haven't seen any of them because, with COVID, I haven't gone and visited. Now that they've got it opened back up for visitations, you just have to call and let them know that you're going to visit, and you have to either be fully vaccinated or have a negative test in the last 14 days to be able to come in. You have to wear PPE right now too. Then we're supposed to just go and visit in his room so we are not around the other residents. He says the food is great and he's gained weight.
