I moved into Sunstone Village. I'm doing great. I love the community. It's really friendly. I'm so glad I moved. It hits all the right buttons for me at this point. The staff is very friendly, very outgoing, very professional, and answered all my questions, even the stupid ones. My room is classy with marble countertops, stainless steel sinks, a full-size washer and dryer, and a full-size dishwasher, and it has an attached garage. I went into a one-bedroom, so it's a lot smaller than I'm used to, but with my changing needs, it fits me beautifully. I just got to get rid of a lot of furniture. I got a full-size kitchen and full-size appliances. Everything's stainless steel. The dining area is basically like a great room. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all one space. The kitchen has a breakfast bar area and the living room is kind of on the small side. I have a full-size sofa. The living room space is also where I'm setting up my office. It is taking up what normally would have been the sofa space, so I don't have room for a coffee table, but that's OK because I'm by myself, so it works out great for me. Their community center is open 24 hours a day. They have 24-hour coffee going on, an exercise facility, and an outdoor pool and hot tub. They also have daily activities at least Monday through Friday, every couple of hours. There are probably like three or four activities going on daily throughout the week. They also have a Sunday spiritual gathering type thing, nondenominational. They have special events like Valentine's Day and stuff like that. These are like cottages, so there are sidewalks all around. It is a gated community. I see a lot of people walking around. They also have areas where you can walk your dog. In the short time I've been there, which is like maybe a week, I met more people in that week than I did in the 15 years I lived in an apartment structure. The tenants there really make it a great place to live. It's a little on the expensive side, but the quality of life is a lot better than what I had before. It hit all of my priorities.

Sunstone Village is a nice village. It just didn't fit our purpose. We just saw the village, the community room, and the pool. It was just a general look of the place. The staff who showed me around was friendly, accommodating, and able to answer questions. They're individual apartments with kitchens. It's just a basic apartment community. They had a calendar of activities, and there were quite a few of them. I saw nothing wrong with it. It was clean. It just didn't fit what we were looking for.

We visited Sunstone Village. I would say that the community appeared to be lovely. The management and the organization appeared to be chaotic. They have gone through a management change, but it did not make me feel that my mother was going to be safe or happy at that place. There was new staff and old staff, and it was clear that there was just a difference in perceptions of how the facility was supposed to be run. It was chaotic. They were very nice people, but it was clear that there was conflict. The units are independent homes, and we did get to see one, and it was very lovely. They said that they were preparing other units that were larger and they would call us when they were ready to see, and they never followed up. This is a property that never followed up. I had gone there several times and there was never anybody there to show me the property. When there were people there, they were not accommodating. I think it's a property in conflict, and I'm sorry to say that because it appears to be a lovely property. The unit that I saw was very nice. It was an independent standalone apartment. It was a full apartment with a living area, a dining area, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. This property did not offer any food plan. They did not have a dining area. It's completely independent living. They're actually like cottages, they're independent, and it's not like an apartment building. They had very lovely amenities. They had a pool, a library, and a community room. It looked to be in very good condition and very well-maintained. I would rate them a two because of the chaos.

We are moving here. It's a single level unit, geared to over 55 independent living, and they have continental breakfast in the morning. They have exercises, activities, a theater room, and it's a gated, secure location. They have a 1- and 2-bedroom units, some with garages, and some without. The staff was really good, they explained everything, and they showed us the properties. We met some other people living there, it went well, and it was close to shopping, medical services, and everything. They put out a calendar of activities once a month.
