I transferred my brother from his Ft. Worth nursing home to Denton Re-hab where he would be closer to me. It was difficult for me to make trips to Ft. Worth to visit with him and keep an eye on his care. He is doing so much better now. I can see it in his face. He was stressed out from the environment in his old N.H. He is much more relaxed looking. The rooms are large enough for two residents without looking crowded. It is truly about the residents here. The environment is quiet. The staff are well trained and work to make the residents comfortable and well cared for. My brother likes the horse races and bingo and they seem to have some activity scheduled every day. I don't worry about his care in this facility. You don't know how bad nursing homes can be until you get involved with them and I am truly grateful for this one.

My father has moved to Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The staff was very helpful. This is something that we've never had to deal with before. They were very helpful navigating things like the insurance, getting him admitted, and guiding us on the different ways we could get him settled. It is an older facility, so there are not a whole lot of amenities. They're building a new facility, which will have a lot more to offer. I haven't tried the food. My dad is on their regimented schedule. He has lowered his A1C for his diabetes to the point where he only has to take a long-acting insulin, instead of having to take a short-term and long-term. So nutrition-wise, it has definitely helped him. They have games. They play cards. They have church on Sundays. They have different activities depending on the time of the year. They had a Grandparent's Day and things like that.

My Mom has been a resident of DRNC for 1 year. I cannot tell you how Blessed we are to have this facility for her. The management and staff are top notch, and she has received the best care possible. My mom is 88 years old and in very good health physically. She does suffer from dementia and other minor health issues for someone her age. The biggest challenge we face with her is that she's deaf and requires someone to be able to talk with her. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate her needs. We are very thankful for them.

During the Coronavirus outbreak, my dad needed Rehab care after being in the hospital for a few days. Since we were not allowed to visit and check on my dad, I had to rely on what the nurses and therapists told me at the rehab. We did FaceTime, but my dad is very hard of hearing and has trouble speaking, which is why we needed to get accurate information from the rehab staff. After being at the rehab for 10 days, he was moved back to his assisted living home, before more restrictions were put on senior living facilities. The assisted living nurses found Dad was in bad shape and his health had declined. He had several bedsores on his bottom and both feet. His strength had not improved. The assisted living administration felt the need to call in Hospice to care for him, and that he is possibly near death. I was shocked and very upset. The Rehab said my dad had no wounds when they brought him home. So either they lied or didn’t know about the bedsores. Whichever it was, that was signs of neglect. The nurses were very friendly and kind on the phone. But obviously they were not taking good care of my dad. I realize he was difficult to move, and needed a lift to get him around. But that is why he was there, to get extra care, and improve his condition. They failed at both.

My mother was in this facility for 8 months, starting with rehab. Her initial stay with all the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy was great. However, her longer stay proved to be challenging with C-diff multiple times and UTI's, which we suspected was from infrequent changing and lack of cleaning her and from CNA's or others who entered her room who did not properly wash their hands between residents. There was poor communication between aids, nurses, and their supervisors. Promises were made to change things, but not kept. We have her in a different facility now and she has not had C-diff or a UTI in 3 months. Also, her mind is clearer than it's been since last November. No matter where your loved one is they need an advocate!

Can't tell you how unhappy I was with the care. We finally got Mom moved to a different facility, but immediately after doing so we found bed sores where she had not been turned/up as needed, she had not be kept clean and had almost constant infections because of it,. The food was terrible...I "ate" with her several times and I can tell you it awful. Not only that they completely ignored food dislikes....and worse...dietary restrictions imposed by her doctor. The PT/OT analysis that they provided to the facility to which she was transferred was completely inaccurate. I wouldn't recommend them and certainly wouldn't use them again

My husband is in rehab right now. He is at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. They do a very good job. They give him his medication, they assist him with bathing, and they take care of his personal needs.

I selected Denton Rehab for my mom on very short notice and very limited options from the hospital case worker. I did some internet research and decided to go with Denton Rehab although my mom had been in a very prestigious rehab facility last year. Unlike the prestigious facility, the nurses and all other staff memberat at Denton Rehab have been outstanding in making sure mother's needs and wants are met. The facility is not the fanciest in the area, but it is clean and smells fresh. My mom wants to stay here when her rehab is complete, but she is too healthy for nursing care. Mom loves the food which was not the case at her previous rehab facility. She says the residents are friendly. Although, there is typically no one at the front desk at the end of the hallway, there is a receptionist at the front door. I've never had trouble finding anyone. I just stick my head in the office and ask. This is a good place.

There were hardly any ever people working there that were easily visible or found. The desk when you walked in rarely had anybody working at it, and there were several times that I specifically tried to find someone that it took anywhere from 5-10 minutes to find someone that worked there. There was also an unpleasant smell every time I went and visited. I didn't see much of the facility except for walking to my Grandmother's room, so I can't comment on much of the building except the small part that I saw. We ended up moving my Grandmother to another facility (we did not feel that she was getting good enough care) in the same city (I can't remember the name of it), but compared to the first one there were always people working there that could be easily found, it smelled much nicer, and it seemed in general brighter and like a happier place.

My Mom has been in this facility for almost a year. She has late stage moderate dementia and is unable to care for herself in any way. I have found the staff to be professional, attentive, and caring. Mom is not a difficult patient but she does have very vivid and constant hullicnations. The staff is great in dealing with her, much better than I am. They have also been very supportive to me and take alot of tiime to talk with me and anwser questions to help me understand how to cope with Mom and keep her calm and satisfied. They do take Medicaid patients. I highly recomend this facility.

It is a huge step to turn the total care of someone you love over to to strangers. It is not how your loved one ever wanted to end their days and you feel guilty and sad and like you're abandoning them. When we moved my husband's grandmother to DRNC we found we had included her in a new family. The care was extraordinarily good, kind and understanding. The staff was always happy and helpful. The medical care was wonderful and more immediate than we had expected. We were informed of every single event as it happened. "Mom" was always clean and well-kempt. Although she had advanced Dementia and Alzheimers the staff continued to try to involve her in daily activities. Her mails and hair were done every week. She came to look on the staff as close friends and family and they cried with us the day she died. I completely recommend DRNC.
