At Grayson Place, our assisted living community, residents are at the center of our small, homelike community. We develop individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, and a full-time registered nurse is available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care. We found Grayson Place for my mom. I liked it, and my mom seems to be adjusting. The people have been extremely attentive, and they have been good to mom, to make her feel comfortable. They've been in touch, they stay in touch, and they've been very, very helpful and very attentive. We haven't been there long enough to be sure, but so far their maintenance man has been fabulous, his name is Scott. The manager is always in touch when I get in touch with her, her name's Felisa. The facility is older. My mother said the food is not good. Their activities are the same as everywhere; they have bingo.

My dad moved into Grayson Place. The staff is really helpful, friendly, and very attentive. It's all one level, just all around, so it's been a good fit for him. The staff members are compassionate, caring, patient, accommodating, and super great. My dad is happy with the food, and he's very picky. They have all kinds of activities. They do a lot of gaming. They have holiday parties and puzzles. They have a little courtyard.

Grayson Place was a pretty good place. They were very helpful, and they had a really good staff. They take good care of their residents. The rooms were clean. They get together every day and they have a little church group. They sing and try to get everyone involved. During the week, they have a night where the families can come. Last Saturday they had a barbecue.

Grayson Place is clean, very affordable, quite accomodating, and small with less than 20 residents in large studio apartments. It has a professional chef and no institutional-type cooking, which is a big plus. The staff members are wonderful and very personable. They truly care and show it from the director to the maintenance man.

Grayson Place is a very caring home for my family member. My dad moved into Grayson Place a few months ago and he really likes it. The staff work really hard to provide quality care and activities. The food is really good and most impressive is they are always available no matter what time I can call any of the staff and they answer!

My great-aunt was a resident of the Katy House from January, 2008 until she was no longer able to live there, late in 2010. She did not leave because the house was unpleasant; she needed to have someone within close proximity 24/7, and the facility did not offer that. In general, the staff was very friendly and took excellent care of her; the condition of the facility's public areas, though, was dark and dingy. While I wouldn't say that the place was messy, it was not an attractive public space. The walls were a light grey that had started to develop faded splotches in places. The dining room floor was an ugly linoleum that did not match the colors of the walls. The occupancy had fallen to about 60 percent while she was there, and so I know that the facility had issues with cost management, but keeping the public areas more attractive would have improved my great-aunt's morale while she was there, to be sure. and likely many of the other residents would have agreed.
