Edgemere had four levels of care, but we were visiting the independent level. It's very expensive, but I liked it a lot. It had beautiful walkways within the grounds and there were gardens around the walkways. There was a very quiet place to just walk around. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was quite spacious and lovely, but you bring in your own furniture, and there were different sizes. A bunch of them were going out to dinner at a new restaurant on a bus that would take them.

I liked Edgemere. They had it all there and they are doing a wonderful job. Everybody I know who's there is having a great time. It's located on the corner of a 6-lane highway, so it could be really noisy. The people there were very nice, and the young woman I talked to was very helpful. Everything in there was just as nice as it could be.

“My wife and I have always been ‘Planners.’ So we spent about two years visiting Retirement Communities in and around Dallas in anticipation of where we would relocate in 8 or 9 years when we would sell our big house and free ourselves of pool maintenance, yard work, home repairs, etc. Edgemere became the clear choice because of its many amenities and beautiful ambiance. When she knew she was dying after a very short illness she was so concerned for me that she insisted I move to Edgemere. She even made me make my deposit, get a contract and show it to her before she passed! It was the best thing I could have done. Comfortable apartment, good food (I don’t cook!), and great people who have made me feel very welcome.”
