My mother has moved into Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake. First off, it is beautiful, and their one-bedroom apartment, the bigger one, because they have a little one, has a very nice size for one person. All the other ones that we've looked at were small compared to this one, and the price was cheaper at Avanti, so that's why we went with them. Right now, she's very picky with the food, but it's good. There are some things that are really good, and there's other things that she doesn't really care for. They do some exercising, they've got arts and crafts, and they take them out to go to places. They have a pet day where they bring in all the pets and things like that.

Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake was like Taj Mahal. Its off-the-charts gorgeous, modern and luxurious. It was not affordable but it was beautiful. The workers were super happy, I got introduced to them, and it was just the nicest place. They have so many activities, they have a beauty salon, and there were activities going on while I was there. There was entertainment that would come in, it was just very clean and beautiful. The staff that toured me around was very nice, it was all very nice and I had no issues. But the parking wasn't as desirable, I had to park on the street since there wasn't a lot of parking.

Avanti was nice, but I didn't like it even though it had varied technological bells and whistles. The staff was too distant from what was going on with the residents. The marketing director gave us the tour, and I felt our questions should have been answered. It did not give me a good feeling; they're not telling me exactly what their assisted living capabilities were, and how they transition from assisted living to memory care. Overall, the facility was nice and well-kept. The rooms were big and nice, but they were not good in activities.

Avanti is where I am going to live, and it is still under construction. I think it would be wonderful, and I hope I am right. When I went there, there was a man on the wall putting something on the ceiling. They have one showroom finished which is similar to the one I am going to be in. It’s about 60% assisted and 40% memory care. They have a restaurant on site so you don’t eat when they want you to eat; you just go to the restaurant and order. It is run by people with a lot of background in this business, and the staff was wonderful.
