Avanti at Augusta Pines was a beautiful facility. It was gorgeous. They have great amenities and lots of places for residents to gather. The rooms were beautiful and very functional. I never saw any residents outside of their rooms. I didn't see any residents participating in anything or sitting out in any of the little rooms or gathering spots. It wasn't mealtime, so nobody was eating in the dining room. I passed some rooms and saw residents inside.

I went to Avanti at Augusta Pines. I would give everything a five-star except for the room, maybe a four, because it's so small. Their food looked wonderful. There was not much outdoor space though. The menu looked like restaurant quality. I spoke to the social director, and their activities kind of went above and beyond. They do happy hour every day. They do a lot of family activities, too. Brendan and Krystal were the two that I spoke with.
It was just very elegant and very updated because it's new and it looked very clean. It sounded like they were well staffed because they do a nurse on-staff 24 hours. A lot of places don't have that. It just looked like they were really into doing activities and very into fitness for their residents as well.
They have a choice for breakfast. They always have something they make every day, and then they also offer choices beyond that.

We toured Avanti at Augusta Pines. It was very good. I liked it, but it was very expensive. The staff who showed me around were excellent. The room was pretty good. It's a little bit small, but it has a desk and stuff, and I like that part. The food was very good, too. We had lunch there; I had pork tenderloin. The only thing I didn't like is that you have to pay extra for the pendant, and I don't think they should pay for that.

We've put down a deposit at Avanti at Augusta Pines. It was very clean and very modern inside. We met a few of the residents, and everyone seemed very happy and interested in what was going on. It was fairly early in the morning, so we did not get to see any of the activities. They have quite a few things for the residents to do. They also have a beautiful courtyard for them to visit. I saw 2-bedroom, and it was very nice with very big bathrooms and a walk-in shower. They just looked very well designed for what it is.
They had an exercise and art programs. They have outings where they would take the residents out. I think we saw pictures of them looking at Christmas lights. The bring them out for shopping and go to museums. They seem just really interested in finding things for them to do. They have a lot of clubs within the place too. There is beer with the boys, movie nights, and a Bible group. The dining room looked really beautiful, and the food looked good.
The staff was very nice, professional, and seemed really happy in doing what they were doing. They were eager to show us around. They were also very interested in learning about my mother-in-law and wanted to capture as much information as they could like her interests, likes and dislikes, and her preference. They seemed very attentive.
I liked the layout of the building. It was circular or round, so people can't really get lost. They'll just go around in a big circle.

Beautiful facility, but too many restrictions since Covid 19. They don’t let ANYONE in other than their staff. That includes hospice nurses. With residents like my father who is terminal, not letting hospice nurses visit, who are responsible for their care creates a situation where they are not receiving acceptable care. They say it is corporate policy and mandate from government. NOT TRUE. Other assisted living facilities allow hospice personnel in and now visits from family with some distancing.
Very hard to get information.

My grandfather has been in Avanti at Augusta Pines for about two months now. They are very sweet and funny. They got my grandpa's humor. They make him excited about being around others instead of being by himself. It seems like he is in a good place. The staff members have a lot of southern hospitality. They make sure he is OK, having fun, and enjoying everything. They check on him a lot. My grandfather has a one-bedroom with a kitchen. It is nice. The telephone is really big with big numbers, which is always good. They offer aerobics and field trips. The amenities are gorgeous, but the food is not so great. Hopefully, they'll have a new chef. They have cocktail hour at 3:00 to 4:00, which is very important. The people are good. It seems like a good place. However, they're way too expensive. It is great money for what you're getting, but it is expensive. Nevertheless, it is still great.
