About This Community

AutumnGrove Cottage™ is a sixteen resident, private-pay, assisted living home specializing in care for senior adults with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related illnesses. To use an analogy, AutumnGrove Cottage™ is to the assisted living industry what a bed and breakfast is to the hotel industry. It is smaller, homelike in design and appearance, and personal. With only sixteen residents, the staff and families get to know each other in a very personal and intimate way.

We honor our families and proactively communicate and support them through this difficult time. We help families understand the importance of home care and hospice services allowing residents to live at AutumnGrove Cottage™ through end of life.

Our Difference: We honor the resident for the person that they are today, as well as who they were yesterday. We respect their dignity, optimize their individuality and focus on their remaining strengths and abilities. Everything we do centers around Alzheimer’s and memory care, from our building design, staffing requirements, to our training and education programs.

There are many aspects that make AutumnGrove Cottage™ a unique concept, but the two most important differences are design and focus.

Design – From the moment you drive into the driveway, our cottage looks and feels like someone’s private home. This is one of the cornerstones in the AutumnGrove Cottage™ belief that people should be able to age in the same manner they are accustomed to living.

Focus – Alzheimer’s and memory care is not something we do it’s ALL we do. Our caregivers are “universal workers”. They are responsible for every need of the resident throughout their day including grooming, bathing, activities, preparing and assisting with meals. Our caregivers get to know the residents’ preferences and provide more personalized care. Our staff-to-resident ratio is over two times higher than most traditional assisted living facilities.

AutumnGrove Cottage in Spring was a nice place. They seemed really compassionate and caring. It was a small memory care facility. It was very clean, and the staff we met was very nice. I can tell that she was compassionate, and the care they provide for the residents would be very adequate. I could tell it was what I was looking for if my husband was staying in a 24-hour a day unit. I don't remember getting a menu, but they cooked the food there. It smelled good. I think we were there just before dinner time. All the rooms were around the central area where they had the activities and the kitchen. They had an activity room, a big, great room, and their kitchen had a really homey atmosphere. It was very convenient. They don't have an in-room shower, but there are showers nearby, open, and someone to help them. They had 3 or 4 caretakers that were all engaged with the residents. The lady who led us also does caretaking, and she's got a lot of experience. I could tell that she is really a compassionate person with people with dementia. It looks like everyone was up doing something. A few people were taking a nap, but otherwise they had nice activities. They played bingo, of course, and they had other activities available.

Loving caregivers. Grandmother was very happy there. Small not loud. Never in her room. Socializes with other residents and the caregivers. Warm home like atmosphere. Highly recommend!
