If I could give 0 stars I would! They left my father in law with out water all day even though he begged them for some. He had hip replacement surgery and could not get it himself! When we called them and asked them to please bring him water the nurse showed up and had an attitude. She never did bring him water in the 2 hours we were there. Due to covid family could only visit through the window and despite them knowing we were coming ( yes we did call them and let them know so they could get him near the window ) they left my father in law in just a diaper with a small blanket on his lap. Then ( like the previous stuff is not enough) they did not feed him lunch or dinner for several days. The breakfast they did bring him was ice cold. He lost 10 pounds in his less than a week stay there before my mother in law him moved to the hospital.

My 94 y.o. mother has been there for around 10 years, and she suffers with dementia. She is quite obstinate, but they seem to handle her well. I live out of state and visit about 2x per year, but when I do, she seems content.
My impression of the place is clean, secure, and well staffed with caring folk. They are easy to reach, and keep me informed.

Winfield is OK. It’s fairly nice, not really big, but it’s accommodating. The food is not really good, but everybody’s very helpful and friendly, and they work with my mom really well with her rehab. Probably the biggest thing is the food. It’s not food that’s really suitable for older people and they don’t seem to fix a lot of it.

If your parent or loved one has Dementia and is mobile, I would not recommend Winfield. The facility is clean and the people are nice, but despite assurances, they are not qualified to handle patients who are mobile and have dementia. The staff is nice and accommodating, but are not specifically trained to handle Dementia. Please choose a secure facility because if the patient can get out, they become a liability to the facility and you will have move them. And moving people with Dementia is not advised.
