I live at Tamarac Pines Apartments and it's not real good. They've come out with some stupid stuff and they're making it really hard to live here. The staff are not real smart, they don't care about the people, they stay locked up in their office, and you can't even talk to them on the phone. My apartment is OK. I like it. It had been refurbished before I moved in, so it is OK. The appliances are very old, and only one burner of my stove works, but I don't do a lot of cooking.
There is nothing going on here. I wanted to go to bingo but they don't have bingo and you can't visit each other. It's like they just want you to stay here and not talk to anybody. They won't let us take chairs outside. We used to sit outside of the building, and there are benches outside; now they don't even have that. The new management came in and took all the flower beds out, so we don't even have flower beds anymore, so it is pretty bad. The place is not real clean. They come in about every two weeks and they vacuum the hallways, but there is nothing else done.

Everybody seems to be very nice and helpful at Tamarac Pines. There were one bedroom apartments; the living and dining area were combined, the bedroom was separate and the bathrooms were handicapped equipped. It didn’t actually have a dining room -- we have individual apartments. It’s not actually an assisted living, so I would be preparing my own meals.
They have bingo, walking trails if you are getting out walking, they have different other activities that they also sponsor. When I went and paid my deposit, they had a group session and there were gentlemen there, singing out in the hall. They have a bus that comes three times a week for transportation, and it does appear to be very secure. The apartments themselves don’t actually open outside -- you don’t enter from the outside, and there is a magnetic door that you have to have an access key in order to get in.
