My husband is at The Collinfield House. It's been good. Some of the staff members are exceptionally good. It's a small place, so there's not as much turnover. Right now, there are eight residents there. I think they take good care of him. Everybody's got a private room, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. He's got his own room and his own bathroom, which makes it nice. Some of them share a bathroom, but most of them have their own room and their own bathroom. It's a very good, small assisted living facility. It's more like a home. They've consistently treated him well. They keep him clean and shaved, and he always looks nice. I'm not allowed in there anymore, but my daughter was in there recently and said his room was real nice. They've been keeping it up well. He's got his own TV, and his room is pretty comfortable. It was a good choice. The staff seems to stay mostly busy with care, cooking, and making sure that they're clean, are helped to the bathroom, and with dressing.

We visited the Collinfield House assisted living facility while in the Austin area searching for places for our uncle. We wanted to see as many places as we could that day, and the staff was very gracious in allowing us in without an appointment. We liked that it is a smaller facility; their goal is to provide the best and most individualized care possible - and it really shows. The grounds were well kept and we particularly liked the tranquility of the beautifully landscaped back yard area. Our uncle would really enjoy that. The communal areas were nice and had a home-like feel to every room. We liked that they offer a library, sitting room, a place for games and a media room. The dining room was lovely and nicely furnished. The meals we saw looked delicious and prepared with an eye toward taste and nutrition. The living spaces were all designed for convenience and security - while still allowing residents to personalize them. Despite its size -- this facility offers everything that a senior needs in the way of a caring environment to live in. This would be a great place for any senior to live.
