My parents moved in at Oak Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center. It's still new and looks very nice. The people I've talked to and dealt with have been very helpful, very nice, and they seem to already be knowing my mother fairly well when it hasn't even been a week yet. So I think they're good. The whole thing is memory care. The layout and of the facility were very good. It's very clean, even my mother noticed how clean and nice it was when we took her to look. They're all very expensive, but this place seemed to be better. It didn't charge you extra for the levels of care. It's the best one we found.

I toured Oak Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center. The guy that took us on a tour was fabulous. He gave us so much information; we really liked him. I didn't eat there. They were actually doing activities while we were there, everybody was singing and having fun. It was small, there were probably only 20 people in there at the time. It was too small for my mom, but the staff was really nice to everybody; they were taking care of everybody.

My mom will move into Oak Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center. The front Foyer is beautiful, and they're super, super nice in there. When you first drive up to them there's a big water fountain, it's very pretty, and when you walk in the front door, it's very inviting, and just beautiful furniture. The staff is very friendly, very knowledgeable, very kind, and very caring. It was the closest to where we live.

The Village at Silver Sage wasn't what we were looking for as far as a nicer place to stay and something a little bit more comfortable. The residents were wandering around, but they take care of them. The lady that took us around was very nice. The rooms were nice, but a lot of them only had half baths, not even a shower, just a toilet and a sink. Instead, they have a common shower area.

Autumn Leaves of Fossil Creek seemed to be tuned in to memory care needs. Everything from the architecture of the building to how it was built and the people that worked there seemed to be very carefully suited for people with memory care needs. It was very active, and they had lots of things going on. People were everywhere doing all sorts of things, and I thought that was good during the day. I thought the outside was inviting and very attractive. They had beautiful facilities that led to inside courtyards that were quite nice.

Autumn Leaves was OK. I went to a few support groups they had over there that were very nice. People with family there as residents thought highly of it. I didn’t hear any bad rumors or any bad things about it. I went there for support groups because they had open doors, and you didn’t have to have someone living there to go. It was a support group for families taking care of their loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

My mother is in Autumn Leaves of Fossil Creek right now. The room is wonderful, and my mother loves it. They're good-sized rooms with emergency rip cords included. Everything about the place is clean. She hasn't been there that long, but there hasn't been a bad experience yet. They go above and beyond what they need to do. The food is good. They keep my mother active all day long with whatever she can tolerate. They have church services, and during the day, they listen to music out in the great room. They monitor them constantly, then staff adjusts to whatever the residents' needs are.

I just happened to drive by Autumn Leaves of Fossil Creek, and I liked it. It had a good size to it. The staff member that I spoke with pointed out that they had a good staffing ratio. They average six residents to each staff member. They had really good dining facilities. They had two: one for those who can eat themselves, and another dining area where they actually had staff member assisting the residents. I was really impressed with them as they got everybody out active all day. You could see a lot of activities going on there. I visited it twice; once was on a Sunday afternoon, and they had a church group in there singing. The residents seemed to really enjoy that. Their memory care is basically like a hotel room with a living room and a bedroom. The only negative I had was the closet spaces were very limited. It was really a small closet area -- almost like a cabinet built in the wall. I would recommend this facility. The thing that stood out to me the most was the amount of staff and the care that I saw the staff giving to the residents.

Mother has been in Autumn Leaves almost a year now. They keep them very active and they give excellent care of their clients. There isn't too much that I could say that was bad. They have very good nurses. They stay in contact with me however they need to. I have a key so I'm invited to come anytime day and night so I can get in the dorm and go see mother, just go see what's going on and I really like that. The staff is just wonderful. I don't think it could be any better.

Autumn Leaves of Fossil Creek was a fabulous place but I could not afford it. I used to take my husband there for Day Care and they had a lot of community activities. They had speakers coming in, information was available for you and monthly meetings for the relatives. They also had more intricate activities like painting, tile-making and they allowed those who could cook in the kitchen. They had two kitchen and had more space for activities. They also had magnificent outside ground. The owner was very involved and they seemed to have bigger staff. They had on-going trainings for the staff and the facility was just on top. I would recommend this place if they could afford it.

I have had very good communication and responsiveness from the staff at this facility. They have been so very good, especially in the area of Memory Care which is their specialty. It is wonderful to have experts be able to tell us that what my father is going through is normal, as well as give us adequate and honest information about his disease. They do everything they can to make life as normal as possible, and the quality of life as high as they can. I am impressed with their caring attitudes.

What a gorgeous facility. I had a wonderful tour with Leon Polk, the Community Relations Director, and couldn't have been more pleased. The entire staff that I met helped me so much as I begin this journey with my mother. I know that she would love it and I wanted to move in myself. I couldn't ask for more in a facility!!!
