My dad is currently staying at Christian Care Communities & Services. They have a very caring staff there. It's kind of a neat location on a hill. There's a five-acre lake that's on the property and they can go down there and go fishing. They've got a nice cafeteria. They serve three square meals a day. My dad's room got a refrigerator and a kitchen sink. It's one room that's large enough for a bed, a sofa, a couple of chairs, and a shelf for books or whatever. They have activities on the premises. Other times, they have a small bus that they can use to take people on an outing. They have a physical therapist on the premises, as well as a health or exercise instructor. They've got a lady on the staff who has a little hair salon there. The facility is clean and well kept.

Christian Care Senior Living Community Fort Worth was a pretty facility, but the person we met with was very disconnected and not really knowledgeable. The facility felt like a nursing home. It was more like a hospital environment with a community shower, not even a private bathroom. It was not a good deal. I also did not like that they offered three different church services on Sunday all for Church of Christ and they do fundraisers and donations and are constantly asking for money, but it all goes to the church. That kind of threw me off and it was a specific church. The residents weren't engaged, weren't happy, and weren't involved in anything. They were just sitting around in wheelchairs and there was no engagement from the staff.

Christian Care Senior Living Community - Lakewood Village is absolutely wonderful. Our mother has gone downhill and she's moving into the memory care section. We're very happy with them. It's clean and very well kept. Everyone that works there, even in the kitchen, is very happy to help. They're pleasing and extremely professional. They genuinely and sincerely care about the residents. All the residents are nice. It's a beautiful facility and it's large, but it's so clean, well kept and modernized. The servers in the dining room, the people at the front desk, and the maintenance people were wonderful. It's Christian and faith based and you could tell that they live it because of the examples that they set. I love it there. It's fantastic. The executive director and the moving coordinators were all wonderful. They go to Wal-Mart and Kroger, and they have someone come in and play the piano. The grounds and exterior are beautiful. It's expensive, but with what you get, it's a good value. It's also private pay, but they are working with us every way they can.

Christian Care was a pretty nice place. The rooms that I saw were OK, but a little tight. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and I have no complaints about the whole community other than the size of the rooms. The dining area was fine, the staff was fine, and they seem to have everything one would need. The grounds were superb. I don't know how they could be beat.

I didn't like layout of Christian Care because it was way too big, and I know my mother wouldn't have been comfortable there. I looked at the assisted living portion of the community, and the price is right and good, but it just doesn't offer a lot of the amenities that the other community I looked at does. The rooms were very nice, but there was just something about the community that I didn't get a good feel for. One thing I didn't like is that they only offered the continental breakfast, and then you had a choice of either lunch or dinner, as far as coming to the dining room to get that meal, so that was a big drawback for me because my mom does not cook. I was impressed that they had an exercise room, and the lady I met with played card games.

I was very impressed with the amenities they offered at Christian Care, as well as the overall appearance, the setup, and the food processing. It was just an outstanding and wonderful center, but the price range put it out of the categories for my sisters-in-law. Otherwise, it was very good. They were extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are wonderful.
