What I liked the least about The Reserve at Amarillo was there were only two televisions in there, but the place was very well set up and very clean. The staff was caring. There are plenty of activities to do, lots of games, and things like that. They have a salon and a courtyard. It's not near hospitals, but there are a couple of restaurants around.

The Reserve at Amarillo definitely had good security, and it was very clean and very well laid out. They had very nice rooms with private bathrooms. The staff who gave me the tour was a young gentleman and he was very thorough, showed me around everything, and answered all my questions. They had a very nice courtyard area with gardening, which was something I was interested in for my father-in-law. They had a lot of activity rooms where some residents were doing something. They had a TV room, and a lot of other rooms with a lot of things to do.

I did a tour of The Reserve at Amarillo, and I really liked that it was all inclusive. The price was very good, a little bit under $5,000, and that was all inclusive. My husband is advanced in his stages, but they said that they could take care of him, so that was good. They subscribe to the Montessori program, and they keep their residents engaged. All the residents looked happy. There was just a really good feel, and it's a beautiful place. It's roomy and cheerful. The rooms are gorgeous. You can bring your own furniture, and it has a lot of room. There's room for a small desk, the recliner, a double or even a queen-sized bed. All of the rooms have an outside view. They've got a nice window, so I was impressed with that. The activity director's just wonderful, she's been there a good while, and she was a little ball of fire. The food is good, and it looked really good. They didn't have a gym or a pool because it is Alzheimer's. They have a large courtyard area where they could get out on a pretty day and stroll with wide pathways, so they could use walkers, or even if they're wheelchair bound. It just had all the other normal amenities that you would find. They have structured programs that they encourage the people to come and watch, and exercises where they do different activities with a ball and balloons depending on what they need. If they need, they do lower body and upper body exercise so that the residents stay active. I've seen their menu and it's extensive. It's got two entrees and several sides they can choose from. They have a full breakfast, and a wonderful lunch. In the evening, they also include a dessert, and they have a full meal and all that. It's very nice.

This place is terrible. Don't put anyone you love in here. Poor care for clients, always understaffed, poor house keeping, I could show you pictures of the filth in this place. The poor ladies working there are overwhelmed. The staffing numbers are not enough to care for the clients.

My mom moved into The Reserve at Amarillo and has made more progress since then. It's a great place. I'm very happy that I chose them. Everybody is just so kind to the residents. They actually care and it shows. They're working with her and she's getting back to being herself. They have activities in the morning and in the afternoon that keeps them busy. They feed them well and they have good food. They're allowed to roam freely (unless the door is locked) and go anywhere they want. I've been going every day, and I have not found anything to complain about. It's clean, decorated nicely, and it's very homey.

My sister was a resident of The Reserve at Amarillo. It started good, and it went downhill. It was really good and then it just kind of petered out. They didn't inform me when things were happening, or if she fell. I didn't get monthly reports. We started good, and it just kind of went down after COVID. There wasn't communication, but it's very nice too. It's all about the staff, how they treat them, and how they communicate with the people on the outside. They have loved ones in there, and they lack that. I guess they just had a lot of people not work, or they had issues and didn't tell me about things that were happening to her. They were nice rooms. The furniture was nice too and have a nice patio. The staff issue became a problem for me. I do rely on them a little bit more, but I didn't hear anything. We have some issues going on there, and I didn't feel my sister was being taken care of up to par. When you're paying that much in a month, I just don't think she would've been cared for as she should have. But it's very nice, and the rooms are nice. The staff was good, but the staff turned bad, so I don't know how to rate them. I've heard they've got new staff and everything else now, which could make a difference. It starts and stops, and things roll downhill. I think everything's changing there. They have singing, play games, and bingo; stuff like that just like the others do. The upkeep is a five, it's clean and good.

The Reserve at Amarillo is an impressive place and if I ever go to memory care, that is where I want to be. The activities are above and beyond with residents doing what they want and like to do. Also there are group activities available for those who like to socialize. The residents appear to be happy and well taken care of. Staff members seem to be enjoying the residents as they care for them. The rooms are attractive and clean and the bathroom is HUGE! The culinary team produces some great food. All in all its a big thumbs up in my opinion.

I told my family that when the time comes, they should put me at Autumn Leaves of Amarillo. I would rate them a 20 on everything. They asked me to have a meal there. It's a good community. They have a room just for crafts for sewing and knitting, a little kitchen where the residents can bake with the workers, and a barber shop, salon, and spa. They have different rooms, like a man cave and a girls den. Some of the guys play cards. They have one resident who wakes up and makes fake flower arrangements and puts them where she wants them all over the community. Then at night, they put them away, and she enjoys fixing them every day. I saw her do that and it really touched me. One lady doing quilting was a designer or something, and she enjoys it because that's what she likes to do. It was a very good experience. What I like about the appearance of the place is their big hallways, and there's a lot of light. All of the rooms have big windows and all of the rooms have restrooms inside each.

Autumn Leaves of Amarillo is a brand new facility, so everything is brand new. They have wonderful staff; everybody we have dealt with has been absolutely wonderful. They offer a lot of activities for the people there. The food is excellent. They have chefs on site and a formal dining area. They have 3 meals a day. I am very satisfied with everything there. It was mid-January when my mother moved in.

We love Autumn Leaves of Amarillo. It's great and they're doing a wonderful job with my dad. I'm very pleased. Their food is really good. They have bingo, singing, movie nights, and different games going on. They just have a variety of things for my dad to do and it is just wonderful, but they also downtime. The staff is well-trained, well-educated, they know how to handle the residents, and keep them engaged. It's a very well-kept and beautiful facility. It's perfect for my dad and I would highly recommend it to others.
