We moved to Harrington 3 weeks ago. We have a 2-bedroom apartment with 2 baths. We liked it. The staff treat us really well. The food is excellent, and we have a different menu at different times every day. We have all kinds of activities. We have movies and bible studies. It has really been nice for us.

We stopped in to see the Harrington Assisted Living Center while in Amarillo to check out possible places for our uncle. From the outside, the facility looked like a modern medical building. It seemed nicely kept up around the grounds. The staff was friendly and agreed to give us a tour, despite the fact that we did not have an appointment. Every room we were shown looked clean and comfortable. The private living areas all had nice kitchenettes - but no ovens or stove. We can understand why, however, our uncle likes to cook - so this is a little disappointing. Each unit also has a balcony, which was really nice. If he likes, he can dine in the main or casual dining areas, all of which were quite nice. The food menus we saw looked appetizing, as did the snacks which are offered often. It is clear that their culinary center really takes the time to find out what the residents like and to make the food nutritious, as well as delicious. We knew our uncle would like the large book cases with books in the library. Reading is a favorite past time of his. We understand that he can also easily take books out of the local library. All in all, a nice facility, but nothing really special. We've been visiting a lot of facilities and many of them have been extraordinary. There is nothing wrong with this place -- it just didn't stand out for us.
