I toured The Craig Senior Living. I visited the independent living. It's a gated community and it's beautifully kept. It's a beautiful place. They have cottages as well as apartments, and it's all very well kept. The staff was excellent. They were very, very nice. I did not try their food. I've seen the residents play cards. They have a beautiful library if you like to read, and I do love to read. They go on a tour sometimes and the staff said once a week they go out to eat at a restaurant. If you want to go, you can sign up to go. They have all kinds of puzzles. The apartment I'm taking, somebody had lived there, and they had to move for some reason. So they are going to repaint it for me, and they're going to redo the floor and put in a new shower. Everything will be really clean, and I like that. The facility is beautiful and very, very well kept.

We looked at The Craig Senior Living. One thing they do is if you don't want to go to their cafeteria to eat, you can have the food brought to you. They have a cafeteria and several different areas of their different buildings because there's more than one, and you can go in any of them if you want to, so you can have a variety of menus depending on which one you go to. They have a grocery store, a pharmacy, and a doctor's office. On their premises, they have a doctor's office. They have eight buildings, and they are all connected by covered walkways. The facility was very nice. It felt homey.

We had some friends who lived at Craig Retirement. You can have your own home, and they have independent living, assisted living, and all the way to the nursing home, which is great. We looked at two-bedroom apartments, and they were very nice. They have a cafeteria there, and everyone would go down to the cafeteria to eat. Their facility was very nice. The staff was excellent. The day we went it was lunch time, they took us to lunch, and the food was very good. They're very nice people. It was more expensive, and it offered some things.

We like the Craig Retirement. They had cottages and little homes, and that's what we liked about it. It had plenty of space, 2-bedrooms, 2-baths, and it was over 1400 sq.ft. It was situated in a pond right across from it. The view was lovely, and it's very close to the main building with the dining room and all the other extra facilities. The grounds were absolutely beautiful there. It had enclosed veranda, they've just redone it, it's all repainted, new carpet, and they're putting new appliances, so I guess those were the things we liked best.
They had independent living cottages, independent apartments in their main building, assisted living, nursing home, and a memory care home all on the same property. Everybody we saw including some of the residents were friendly and happy, and everything was very good. They had a beauty salon, a barber shop, and a beautiful library with a fireplace in it. It was snowing yesterday when I was there, and the fireplace was going, and it was absolutely gorgeous. It's perfect. They had a fitness center, but they did not have a swimming pool. They had lakes, two different ponds on the property, and there's a bank in the main building. Their dining room is closed right now, so they're having to deliver the food to all their buildings and their units.

I just moved my mother into this Seniors Community. The facilities are phenomenal, the staff personnel are friendly and responsive. The food is very good with lots of options at every meal. There are plenty of organized activities from church services to Royal wedding Hat contests to shopping trips to local grocery stores to visits to local points of interest. We met several other residents who could only say positive things about the place. My mother was extremely lonely in her home after my father dies and in the last three weeks since she made the decision to move in, she has been excited about life. As we were moving her into her apartment, she kept saying that if she likes it half as much as everyone says she will then she will like it. That meant the world to me.

Craig Retirement Community was the nicest one after looking at the other places available in Amarillo, and it met the requirements that my mother had. It's a very nice, nonsmoking facility, and her apartment had the ample space that she wanted with a full kitchen and all the things that she wanted in a home that were very important to her. They seem to be very friendly and very clean. We had lunch in the dining room, and the food was pretty good and had a lot of choices. They have a nice dining room and a lot of people in there that are enjoying themselves. There are a lot of activities. My mother loves to play games.

The Craig has all facilities, starting with independent living and up through assisted living and then into full nursing. They even have an Alzheimer's unit. It is really nice because you could live in there and die there. It is a lot larger and lot fancier. It was very clean and very nice. I was very impressed with it. However, it was more expensive than where I am now. The staff was really committed. They worked really hard. They were very friendly and very helpful. They would go out of their way to help you with anything. The dining area was nice, but they only have one meal a day.

I would highly recommend The Craig. I like this facility because they had all levels of care. They have a very large complex. The facility is very clean and nice. It has a very homey feel when I visited there. They do daily activities. They also go on shopping trips and they take the residents' doctor's visits.

The rooms in Craig were very nice and spacious and I really like that. The activities were fine but they would charge you more for the beauty shop and extra meals which I didn't think were right.

My experience with Craig Methodist Retirement Community was a pleasant one. At first, I was skeptical about having to visit my Grandmother in an assisted living facility. My Grandma and I were extremely close, so having to see her needing care was hard on me. The first time I visited her, she stayed in her room and kind of moped around. I think it was difficult for her having to leave the comforts of her own home to stay somewhere else and have strangers care for her. The place itself is nice, really nice, but that doesn't matter if she was unhappy. I just remember being unsure about the whole ordeal until about the second or third visit. I remember visiting her on a Saturday during one of their activities. She was up moving around, laughing and visiting with other elders in wheelchairs. I haven't seen her smile like that in a long time. It was then that I realized how lonely she was at home all by herself. The staff even seemed like they were having fun watching them interact. I knew then that this place was going to be good for my Grandma and that I didn't have to worry about her welfare anymore. Each visit thereafter was great! She really seemed to be enjoying herself despite her situation. The staff seemed alright too. I think there was one nurse that my grandma didn't care for because every time I visited she would stare down that nurse and tell me that she's a mean one. I don't think it was anything bad because my grandma would've have said so, but I don't think she was that nice either. I think her overall experience was very pleasant, though. I even had a nice experience with the place and I'm not a fan of assisted living facilities.
