I went to The Ivy of McKinney. The director gave me the tour. I loved the community that there is in that facility. Everyone seems to love everyone. There was a lot of joking and laughter with each other. It was just wonderful to hear all the fun that the residents have. The apartments were roomy, clean, and absolutely perfect for my mother's needs. They had an exercise and craft area. It was absolutely clean, smelled fresh, and was just very good. I was actually there during their lunchtime, so I didn't see any activities other than them coming back and forth from the dining room.

I liked the staff of The Ivy of McKinney and its actual facilities. The rooms seemed clean. The residents were actively moving around and appeared to be well cared for. The rooms were a good size. Not too big, not too small but very homey with a little kitchenette area. That was a nice touch.
They have a media room with a big screen TV where residents can come together and watch football games, which my mom loves. They also have a little library area where they play games/board games. I think the activities director was leading a group in a game. So, that was good to see.

I loved The Ivy of McKinney. There were a lot of residents around. I loved the space that my dad would be in. The person that I met was really knowledgeable on benefits and things that I didn't know we'd have access to. He was super helpful in guiding me with some of that. The staff was very excellent and knowledgeable. You could tell he'd been in the industry for a while. He knows what is important to this generation of seniors. He was great, and I really liked him. The facility was very clean. I saw nurses and other people there, and they were all very friendly. I was greeted by everyone I met, which was also great. The residents seemed happy. They have three meals a day. The cable is included in their room. They actually have little kitchens in their room, which would be something my dad would like. I like the medical alert in the room that they wear when they're there. They have activities and all sorts of things. I saw the kitchen and saw the people eating. It smelled good.

My mom has been in The Ivy of McKinney. The staff is very friendly and my mom really enjoyed the people that were there. She striked up immediate friendships with them, and there's lots of activities that she enjoys to do every day. They have bingo, karaoke, different games, and stuff. They have a coffee machine downstairs, which she likes, and an ice cream machine that residents can use anytime they want. I haven't tried the food yet, but I just know that she's not really impressed with it.
It's a three story building, and she lives on the third floor, but elevator access is available to all the different floors, and every floor has a little common area, then there's a dining room downstairs, which is also very nice. She got her own one-bedroom apartment, and it is pretty spacious, with a large bathroom and large walk-in closet.

The salesperson at The Ivy of McKinney was very welcoming and gave us a lot of good information about assisted living compared to independent and a mixture of the two. They were helpful and inviting. I like the concept of having divided rooms rather than one big room, and they have that. It had a kitchen, a bedroom, a closet, a huge bathroom, and a nice living area. I was impressed with the apartment. It was attractive and would be workable.

We're happy with The Ivy of McKinney. My mom's apartment is very large and the feel of the community is very homey. They have several outings every week and a plethora of activities every day that they can participate in. I've eaten several meals with my mom and I've enjoyed all of them. The caregivers were all very friendly and involved.

I only saw the assisted living facility of The Ivy of McKinney. The rooms were a good size and nice. I didn't see anything wrong with them. I didn't see any activities, but they had an activities calendar. They had a nice dining area and a little coffee shop area, and even an on-site beauty salon. I interacted with one person and she was wonderful, very friendly, and outgoing. The residents looked like they were kind of sitting around, but to be fair, there was a major storm happening so they probably couldn't do a whole lot. The power went out when we were there because of the storm.

The person who took me around Orchard Park was very informative, very nice, and seemed to be nice to the clients who were there. The dining room didn't smell funny, it seemed nice, everybody was sitting there, and they had an attendant at every table with all the patients.

I have moved in at Orchard Park. I like everything about it. I like the food, I like the people, and I like my apartment. They provide transportation. I really like it. There are games going on all the time. They have movies. They have people come in and sing for us. They take people on the bus for shopping. There are just lots of things going on. I like the whole layout of my apartment. I like everything about it. I like its big bathroom. It is very roomy and accessible. I like big closet. We have our own washer, dryer, and dishwasher in each apartment.
