Avalon Memory Care has gone to great lengths to provide a mode of care that is uniquely tailored to the special needs of the Alzheimer’s victim. We are concerned with every phase of the resident’s needs (physical, emotional, and social). We work to restore and support the resident’s self esteem, dignity, and the resumption of as many of the daily personal tasks of which the resident is capable. Surrounded by family treasures and memories, the residents live in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms in a spacious, ranch style, one level home with built-in security features such as a secured patio and roomy backyard. They bond with and enjoy the companionship of other residents and inevitably form a “family feeling” that eliminates the loneliness or isolation often experienced in institutional settings. They enjoy luxury accommodations including exquisite furnishings in these fine homes.

We provide professional and sensitive care for the physical, emotional, mental, and social needs of our residents. Our care focuses on the safety and well-being of our residents, 24-hours a day. We have many excellent referrals and are licensed by the State of Texas as a small/large Class B Assisted Living with Alzheimer and Related Disorders certification.

My mom has moved into Avalon Memory Care - McKinney. It's very clean, and the staff is nice. They seem to be very interested in making sure that she's doing okay daily. They report well to me, letting me know what's happening, what they're doing, how they're adjusting medications and those types of things. It's a nice room. They have a TV already on the wall, and there's granite on the kitchen sink. The closets are decent sized for what she needs. Overall, it's a nice room. I rate them four stars just because they bleached my mom's color clothes. The person didn't know how to wash clothes and ended up bleaching some of her clothes that shouldn't have been. That was the only negative that I had a takeaway on, but everything else has been really good. They have a salon, they do their nails, and take them to do walks outside of the property so that they can get some fresh air. They do activities weekly. I haven't been privy to a lot of the activities just because it's more so when I'm not there, but it seems she's enjoying herself. They do some coloring and group exercises in the morning. I think it's a little expensive for the amount of care that's being provided. But as far as the market is concerned, they seem to be pretty much in line with what the market charge for that type of care. I feel like it's too much, but it is in line with it.

Please don’t put your loves here! The staff is very rude. Who ever owned this place needs to clean house. ASAP. Nobody listens to the family members. When we are telling them about our concerns. There is no love , trust, and caring for the people who lives there or the families. Didn’t trust them to take care of my dog.

Avalon Residential Care Homes was licensed and they had doctors and nurses on call. They provided meals, monitored the medications and had 24-hour security. The staff were caring and hardworking. My parents' room was very large, very nice and well-maintained. They had traditional mental games, board games and little exercises. I liked that it was a small group home so they were more hands-on with the residents. I was happy with the care they gave to my parents. It would be better though if they improved on the communication between me and the directors, a bit more informative. I would recommend this facility to other people.
