A beautiful campus and facility at the top of the mountain--the views are incredible. The nurses and aides truly care for the residents and appear to be a great team. Leaving there, I have a peace of mind knowing my aunt is in good hands.

Alexian Village of Tennessee was a very nice, beautiful facility but not somewhere Mom is going to be able to afford. They had a large buy-in, and she is not able to do that. The staff was very nice. The rooms were adequate.

I have been to Alexian Village of Tennessee myself when I had surgery and also have friends there. Everything is absolutely top notch. The staff is wonderful. I don't have any complaints. The friends I visit are very happy there. The apartments are spacious, lovely, and set up nicely. I'm very pleased with the food. The grounds are a beautiful setting.

This facility has the reputation of being the best in the Chattanooga area. I truly believe it to be one of the best although all nursing homes have problem areas. The staff are wonderful. Mom's CNA's take good care of her and are always friendly and respectful of mom's needs. They bathe, dress, help with eating and using the bathroom and get mom ready for the day. The nurses are generally helpful. This depends on the one on duty. One of her nurses goes out of her way to help mom and will let me know if she thinks mom needs medical attention from a doctor or if mom seems to be in pain. The other is good, but I often have to "keep after her" to get mom's needs met. The DON there is wonderful and always listens to concerns and quickly acts on solving any problems. There is a monthly care meeting available for family members to address any issues they have. The meeting includes a nurse, social worker, dietician, rehabilitation person and the meeting coordinator.. These meetings are especially helpful to the family. The facility is nice and kept clean. There are hand sanitizer dispensers in each room. The rooms are a bit small for two people and there is not enough closet space. They have a lovely front porch for the residents to enjoy. They have numerous activities scheduled for the week including: trivia games, bingo, bible study, nail care, monthly birthday parties, musical entertainment and church services. They do have occasional outings for residents that are able to get out. They have a shelf full of good books available and a tv area where they show movies on saturday. The dining area is a bit crowded, but the food is good and the cafeteria workers are helpful to those that have trouble eating. There is also a rehabilitation center on site. The main issues I have had here have been a lack of communication between the CNA's and nurses. There was one time that mom went a number of days without a bowel movement due to the fact that the CNA's were not recording this in the tracker. So, it never printed out on the list where the nurses could see there was a problem. They could also use a few more CNA's on her floor. All in all, it is a good place, but, as with all nursing homes, you need to visit your family member often to ensure things are not being overlooked.

I know for a fact that my mother has had issues with the company that provides pharmaceuticals for Alexian, other than that I do not believe that there have been any major issues. From personal experience, the staff is friendly. I have volunteered at several Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities in the area, and I would say that out of those few visited, Alexian has the most friendly staff. As for the facilities, they are fairly clean. I don't really have anything positive or negative to say about the cleanliness.
