We have been providing senior living since 2016. Alexander Guest House offers everything from activities to transportation at one price. Included are housekeeping, laundry service, meals, medication management and so much more. We have a Nurse Practitioner that visits weekly and several therapy companies that come to work with our residents. We are located in the Jackson Square area of town just down from the Chapel on the Hill.

My mother-in-law has been in Alexander Guest House for almost five years now. When we first went in, the management was wonderful and they had health care round the clock. It was a well-run situation. The manager then moved up into the company, and the current manager who took over afterward is petty, very arrogant, and won't listen. They are cost-cutting to the point that the food is minimal at best. We're not happy with them. After 10:00, there is no nurse or medical staff on the site. It's just kind of sad when we need them at night. Their option is to go to the hospital, and that's not always an appropriate option. The current manager doesn't do any continual housekeeping to be able to take care of issues. The air conditioners are not always working appropriately. They've had to put in window units. The heat is intermittent.
The help staff are generally good, except they don't stay a few months because they get so frustrated trying to deal with the current manager so they leave. Their turnover is excessive, so it's just really a difficult situation. There's little relationship that is able to be developed with the residents because they don't stay. They have a new lady who has come in for activities though and she seems to be somewhat better and offering things that are more appropriate for the residents' age.

Although The Guest House at Alexander Inn was an older building, it has been renovated. It was an old hotel, but they redid all the rooms and they did a beautiful job. The place was welcoming and very friendly. I also felt that the residents were happy there. The staff was very friendly, very cooperative, answered all my questions, and I was very pleased with the person that assisted me.

I was very impressed with The Guest House at Alexander Inn. It’s very clean, but it’s a smaller facility. They did have a separate bedroom and a sitting area, but the rooms were small, and also there was no independent-living there, so if my mother was to get a lot better with her physical therapy, there wouldn’t be any area to move up to. The atmosphere was very nice. It was a historic place before, and they restored it so it’s very nice.

Alexander Guest Home is really good and probably my first choice. It's a historic building that was redone and had a lot of meaning to the community. The rooms were very adequate, and the patients' rooms were very nice. The dining room was every nice and looked like an old-fashioned dining room.

I visited The Alexander Inn a couple months ago, and it was great. The staff was very nice, very helpul, and answered all of our questions. The place had an excellent location. The rooms were perfect, just the right size, really clean, and new. It seemed like they had everything we needed in the room. I just wish they had a pool for water activities.

Everyone at Alexander Guest House (The Guest House at Alexander Inn) was so gracious. I would have moved into this place myself. I brought my girlfriend, and we were in awe. We were just so excited and impressed. The manager was so gracious and welcoming and showed us the best of the best. It did not have independent living, though.
