We looked at Country Cottage. The tour was very professional. They have activities, but not as many as the other facility, but they were just starting to open up for visitations as well. The staff members were very knowledgeable and very friendly. They have double occupancy rooms, but mostly apartment-type.

I chose Country Cottage in Lawrenceburg for my relative. My daughter used to work there, so I've been in there before, so I know what it's like. Its relatively close to our house, so that would make it easier. I may have to go back and forth to check on her stay. It looked really nice. It looked clean, and the residents looked like they were happy and taken care of.

I'm not really happy with Country Cottage - Lawrenceburg, but it's the best I could find for my mom. She's supposed to have 265 square feet of space, but she has 230. I brought this to the director's attention and said there needs to be price compensation. She said their rooms are not based on size, but their advertisement states the price of the room is based on its location and size. It's also the smallest room in this particular facility. With the exception of two, not a single one of the floor plans that they advertised is what it's supposed to be. They're supposed to be doing laundry and assisted bathing, but her hair smelled bad. In looking for her pocketbook in her room, I discovered she had dirty clothes stuffed in her closet, here and there and some in the laundry basket. I mentioned this to one of the nice ladies and she said that she would have the housekeeping people check these areas. The place is very neat, clean, and well lit, and the ladies who work there are the sweetest with the exception of their director. When I went there, the director never once looked up, never said hi, and never asked if she could help me with anything. Activities include walking, bingo, balloon volleyball, and reminiscing, but they seem to repeat a lot of them. She's very happy there and she's made some really good friends. I like that it is a small facility, very home-like, and has a Southern country feeling.

Country Cottage Lawrenceburg is probably my favorite. The rooms were a little small, but I like dthem. They have Bingo, a piano, a dining area, and a patio. The staff member I met was very nice. They have a little sitting area. The staff member who showed me around sat down with me, talked to me, and went into great detail.
