At Brookdale the residents receive one on one care and each staff member treats every resident with respect. Brookdale really takes pride in making sure their residents are well cared for and receive necessary care needed. Each staff member takes the time to really get to know the residents and bond with them, allowing for a more nurturing and caring environment for each resident.

The entire clinical team is wonderful. The nurses and aids are so helpful and patient. We couldn’t ask for a better place for our loved one.

They took really good care of my father-in-law. He enjoyed the outings and music events. He liked the food, especially breakfast. There's a nice outdoor area that's enclosed so it's safe. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I had an in-person tour of Brookdale Johnson City. They were excellent. I would recommend them to anybody. The rooms were very nice. It was like being in a nice resort. They have a lot of activities. The staff members were wonderful. I saw the menu, and it was like a restaurant. They had a garden outside, a vegetable garden where they could grow vegetables, a TV room, and a piano. They offered church services. They had a hairstylist. Everything was there. They were very kind and caring. The way I saw them interact with the people living there was wonderful. They treated everybody with respect.

I visited Brookdale Johnson City. The living space was very small, it was basically one big room. I was disappointed when one resident came out and asked when lunch was, and they told her it wasn't time yet and to go back to her room.
The services that they offered seem pretty good. It was just that the rooms were so small. The staff was very friendly. There weren't that many amenities presented to me. They have three meals a day and constant care. I think they charge more for the care, and it was a pretty high price in the first place. Food is included, but no snacks.

I like the fact that Brookdale Johnson City has an outdoor porch where you can see nature. The rooms were quite comfortable and I was not at all disappointed in the appearance. The person was very efficient, friendly, and answered my questions. We were still in the Covid atmosphere, tables were scattered, and the eating area was scattered out a lot. That's just part of getting through that time. It's probably a little different now. I know one area where they have a little therapy room, I guess that's what it was. I was kinda familiar with some of the different equipment there and one of the assistants was helping a resident, I think it was in the memory care unit, they showed how to put the dishes on the shelf, so that it's kind of a daily activity. The staff has been communicating with me since then. It's maybe a little dark in the halls, not uncomfortably so, but a little bit darker than other that I was accustomed to.

Brookdale Johnson City is very home-like. There's physical therapy on site and it'd be a good place to stay. It's very comforting. The rooms are very nice, clean, and well-maintained.

My Mother is a resident at Brookdale Johnson City Assistant Living Side and is thriving well. She receives socialization, dietary nourishment and caring people meeting her needs each day. She is content and it gives me peace knowing she has qualified people meeting these needs.

Brookdale Johnson City is a very nice small community. When you walk in, it has a large dining area, a large sitting area, and a piano. There are hallways where the assisted living folks have their rooms. My mother is going to the memory care side where there is a small locked, carpeted entrance down the hallway. It's nicely painted and there is décor on the walls. Her room is quite sizable -- and for the price -- it's very good. The head nurse is right on the floor inside with the memory care residents. The staff has been super. They also cook their own food there, they take them on trips, and they do activities. All in all, I'm very happy with where we're going.

My wife lived in Brookdale Johnson City for two and a half years. I had been with a group that performed there, too. They treated me very well, and the place was quite nice. I thought the staff was quite nice. The room was good, roomy, and clean, and the temperature was well controlled. They had different kinds of activities and groups who came in and performed, plus dinners for the residents. The food was excellent. They provided transportation. It’s a nice community.

I’ve placed my husband in Brookdale (Brookdale Johnson City). The facilities are fine. He has not been there long enough for me to correctly assess the care that he is going to be getting from. Well, I had a meal with him on Monday, and it was delicious. It is a very nice room; it is one of the larger ones. I like the fact that he has some room to move around and not be so cramped up.

I've been in Brookdale Senior Living (Brookdale Johnson City) for about a year and a half. I looked at most of the ones in Johnson City and this seemed to be the best in town. The food at times is awful and at times it is pretty good. The dining area is very nice. We have activities every day. I would recommend this community. Here, they take a bus out on two trips a week just to go shopping wherever you need to go for whoever wants to go. They have bingo and music programs; we pay them to do that. Some of the professional musicians are very good.

The people at Brookdale Johnson City were very nice. The facility looked really nice, and they did have openings, but my dad is in a different state, and we weren't sure if he was going to come here. If he would, it is definitely one that we would have considered for him to live in here. It had a very nice entrance and a gorgeous view. On the front porch, they got rocking chairs to sit at and look at the mountains; it was absolutely gorgeous. They had a nice area where people could just hang out at -- a lounge -- and it was big. They had a grand piano over there, so if they wanted to play music they could. The dining area had a view of the mountains too, and they also had a porch in the back with grills where you could have family over and grill. They did have a memory care unit, but I did not go in there.

I had a really good feeling when I went to Brookdale Johnson City. The residents seemed very happy, and the staff was lovely. This would have been my first choice, but they did not have any openings. It was very nice.

I visit my aunt on Sunday almost every week. Staff are hard to find and no member of management works. I have seen a roomful of staff just standing around once and two staff members sitting in the dark instead of working. Facility regularly changes the door pass code but then has no one to let people in and out of the facility.
My aunt has been a resident there for 8 years or so, and facility has gone downhill. There used to be a very engaged lady that conducted all kinds of activities. Not in years now. Management and staff are mostly non-existent on weekends, so I wonder in case of an emergency, when would help come for one of the residents?

The other place that we went to was called Brookdale, and it was comparable to the other one, all the way down. They have a pool, but it isn?t in the place; they have separate condos down the road a little bit from where they are, and the pool is within walking distance of the condos and not of the senior center. The cleanliness of this place was excellent. The rooms that I looked at -- and I liked -- were a little too small for me.

I visited Brookdale Johnson City (formerly Wellington Place of Johnson City), and it was very good. It was very nice. There wasn't many people. There were 20 rooms. It was clean and quiet, and the girl explained everything. She was very good. She even sent us some apples and pears together. I thought that was very nice. I was very surprised because I just went there just to check them out, but she was very good, and it looked like a very nice place.

I am very familiar with Wellington place. It was very nice, private, and in an upscale community. They have so many people coming in and things to do with church services on the weekend. The staff is knowledgeable enough.

I visited Wellington Place and it was a nice place. I was really impressed with it and I thought about moving my sister. However, when they had dementia, sometimes you would have problems when you move them. So, we decided not to move her, but if I would move her, I would like her to be at Wellington Place.
I was impressed that everything was clean, the people seemed to be happy and they were doing activities with them. The people working seemed to be nice. In the dementia section, they don't have apartments, they just had nice big rooms with nice bath in it. You could decorate it and make it into a nice bedroom with a little sitting area. I liked the area when you came into the building and their dining area. They also had a nice outside area and the way the building was built, the scenery was open to the outside where they could go out but they couldn't go away. If they would be interested, I would tell them to check them out.

We had a visit at Wellington Place of Johnson City and it felt very comfortable. The facility is very nice as well as the staff.

I am writing this review because I found information difficult to find about the assisted living facilities in Johnson City. I toured this assisted living facility while I was looking for a place for my mother.
The good - nice appearance. Looked like it was properly staffed.
Bad - Their pricing seems like it could fluctuate greatly based on many factors. The place was kind of big, and we didn't think mom would do so great at such a big place. I read that activities aren't great, and during our visit there wasn't anything going on.

Wellington Place was a very nice and very clean facility. It was more high-end and their residents were people who have no problem affording it. What appealed to me the most was the fact that you can actually go outside without assistance as there was a secure spot there for their residents. Even with their memory care, they have an area where they can go outside and be safe. Their courtyard was probably the most impressive thing. Also their rooms were just as nice as what you could expect for an ALF. The staff was wonderful. I would rate them a five across the board from the maintenance people to the nursing staff to the person who gave us a tour. Everyone there seemed to be very receptive, very nice and very helpful. Any questions I had, they went out of their way to accommodate me. Also the follow up was fabulous. Overall, I would say Wellington would be number one if money was no object.

We were considering Wellington and the only thing that kept us from going to there, actually, was the fluctuating rate. They could not fix the rate for us. However, I think that Wellington was a spectacular place. It was a beautiful facility. The staff was competent and professional. The rooms were in good size and accommodating.

I did go and visit Wellington Place for my aunt. I thought the facility was excellent. It was exceptionally clean. I saw their dining room and it was absolutely gorgeous. They had three different types of apartments and I thought they were a little small, but they were set up well for safety reasons. The people working there seemed caring and very helpful. Even the lady who was showing me around stopped by and entertained a resident who was asking a question and I thought that was very good to see. Their clients seemed very pleasant, content and happy being there. With regards to activities, I didn't see a lot of things happening at the time of my visit, but they did show me what looked like a calendar of activities. Overall, Wellington Place is a very nice place.

My grandmother lived there. She was a very picky eater and the staff went out of their way to make sure she always had something that she liked for her meals. They were very warm, caring and understanding and our family can't thank them enough.

Wellington Place was great. The facility was exceptional. However, they didn't have any activities for the residents so it gave them a lot of downtime.

My aunt lived there some six or eight years ago, so I knew the facility, but I can tell you that it is far better than it used to be. Now, they're keeping the doors locked. It used to be anybody could walk in and out of there. They now have a therapy room, a big improvement I saw over the years. This would be good for my mother-in-law because she has dementia, a balancing problem. I didn't see anything that turned me off. The only drawback in our circumstances is my mother-in-law is moving from a large townhouse, and to put her in a very small room will not work. She's going to need space. I do have one of my girlfriend's mother went there for their memory care. We think it's great or we wouldn't have suggested it.
