I am at Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab for rehab. It's attractive on the outside, and the inside looks like a very pleasant rehab facility. The staff is good, but I think they're understaffed. So it takes a long time to get anybody to come to your room, and that's something I don't enjoy. I was told early on that I might not be able to stay, so that kind of sent me into a frenzy. I think there would be better ways to say that to a person who has only been here for three or four days. Overall, it was disappointing in a lot of ways. They have activities here.

My mom was at Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab. The rehab facility is good. We're pleased with them. It's well-staffed, and a lot of new facilities there are for the rehab, so we've been pleased with it. They're well-staffed with good people and they have good facilities. The food seemed good, but I didn't taste any of them. It's clean, well-equipped, and they have modern facilities. The rehab, at least with regard to my mother, is fully paid for by Medicare, so we're pleased with it so far. I'm not paying out of pocket.

If you are looking for long term care, avoid this facility at all costs. It looks nice on the inside, but it stops there. The nursing staff is the worst I have ever seen. The Administrator and other management does not care. They are callous and lack any compassion for their patients. I was shocked at the treatment i witnessed. Reconsider if you are thinking about putting your loved one here. It is a horrible place.

My mom is at Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab. It's a wonderful place. It's well staffed and the people are caring. They have great activities for the residents. They try to keep everybody engaged and they are also communicable. Also, the rooms are very nice and comfortable.

All that glitters are not gold. MJH is kept immaculately clean; The super plastic smiles of elation by staff. The phony first visits by the NHA and DON. This is all surface props & aids in disarming family members. It is important for longterm residents with dementia, and other cognitive impairments to have continuity of care. Please refer to demential.org for more information. Not only dementia patients but all cognitive deficits require continuity of care. MJH completely lacks continuity of care. Ask for the voluntary and involuntary turnover statistics for nurses and CNA’s. The direct care staff are disrespected and overworked. The nurse managers DO NOT help staff in any way. More importantly ask how many of the Longterm care nursing staff are certified in dementia, long term care etc., how many nurse managers are RN’s, how many of the nurse managers are certified to be nurse managers, how many nurses on the rehab units are certified in rehab care. Ask your loved ones how many new staff they see repeatedly? Why do they not serve MEAT for breakfast that is not part of the Jewish religion, it is a cost cutter for the facility. How can it be 5 star with not one staff certified in the position which they hold? Why is their favoritism with residents, the NHA moved a long-time resident from their room to accommodate his friend how is that decision 5 star?

Memphis Jewish Home was fine. My dad stayed there. The rooms were very nice, clean, and well kept. It was expensive. They did take good care of my dad. The staff was nice, but it was just not the right level of care that my dad needed.

Memphis Jewish Home is probably the nicest facility in Memphis. My parent has been there for a few weeks; we're hoping it goes well. It's like a home, well decorated, and doesn't look like a hospital but more like an apartment. The rooms were mostly private and very nice. It's very secure and safe. I was there almost every day.

Memphis Jewish Home is the best in Memphis and in the country. My mom was there for rehab. They have wonderful people there. They have semi-private and private rooms. I had a really good experience with them.

I have visited Memphis Jewish before. I have visited the rooms, and they are just lovely. The food is kosher I think, but I understand it's very good. I love it; I think it’s just lovely.

Memphis Jewish Home and Rehab was a wonderful place. We had a lot of people -- different friends -- who recommended it. Everything was very, very good and they were wonderful, so it was just a good experience. I don't have anything negative to say about it. God guided us to make that choice, and it was a blessing to be there. They had all kinds of activities for the residents. They played games, had card meetings, and many other things.

I know a couple of ladies that I go to church with who were in the Memphis Jewish Home. It's a very nice facility. It's a 2-story place. They have physical therapy for people who go there for a short period of time. There are people living there who've suffered from strokes who have their own private rooms. There are TV's and the residents' medication is given to them. They serve them their meals. The residents help take care of little birds in cages. They have little flower gardens that they let them plant stuff in. The Jewish Home has been there quite a long time and it stays full and you have to get on the waiting list to get into there.

My mom was at Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab for about three months mostly for rehabilitation. The care provided was average. It was a clean and beautiful place. Although I thought there was lack of staff.

I am very pleased with the facility. I was pleased when they were added to the list of providers because we are friendly with the Memphis Jewish Community Center. The staff is very welcoming and nice. We had no problems when we visited the center. The facility is clean and well kept. The inside and outside have good appearances. We are very pleased with the living arrangements and accommodation made by the facility. The food is also ok here. The biggest concern we had was whether or not our family member would like the facility. She does indeed. She loves the people she comes into contact with on a daily basis at multiple times a day. Also, we do as well when we come to visit. I am very pleased and hope that this facility remains in Memphis and is well funded in the future. Any problems we will have I am sure will be seen to in a quick fashion.

My Dad was there for 5 weeks. Management of this facility was always trying to throw him out. They appear to be a light duty rehab. They appear to want the patients to be a quick in and out, easy rehab patients. They accepted him and their program failed him. When we had him transported by ambulence to the emergency room,he required a 7 night hospital stay, 2 units of blood, urinary tract infection and an inflamed knee, all of which they did not catch. On site physicians not engaged as well as they should be in my opinion. This is strictly a profit corporation. Staff was nice, building clean, food horrible. Management is very disorganized and intimidating to the family of patients. Have heard this same complaint from some families of recent patients. Management is nice on the surface, their actions are completely different. Our family was on pins and needles the whole 5 weeks. Unless your mother of father is a perfect patient, they do not want to deal with them. When my father left for the emergency room, the Jewish Home asked if he would be returning. No way, would not do my dad that way again. Lots of other issues with his therapy and skilled nursing practices. Too much to list. However we do have a complete detailed list of dates and people we had to deal with at the Home. We are going to the State of Tennessee with our details and complaints. Good luck. Tom
