My mother came from Brookdale Johnson City and we were asked to leave. She was in the assisted living side for a while and then moved to memory care. I don't recommend that anyone put their family members there. The staff is more concerned about themselves than they are the residents. The rooms were not kept clean. Her room smelled horrible the whole time. When we moved her out, all of her belongings smelled horrible. I just don't feel that they took very good care of her for the last few years. They were good at the beginning and the last few years they've just gone downhill. She has serious dementia and they didn't keep her clean. They just didn't take good care of her. They provide activities. She had coloring books and they had games, and they would have people come out with musical instruments and engage the residents. The activities were very nice. It was the staff and caring for her that I didn't care for. The food was fine. She tends to be a little difficult to feed, so they provided her with things that she would eat. They were too expensive. They could improve their staff by giving them more help so that they could provide better care and keep a closer eye on the residents and less time talking amongst themselves in the hall and keeping the residents clean.

The staff members truly care about the wellbeing of the residents. They *love* my mother-in-law and it shows. I'm very grateful for this level of care.

I toured Brookdale Johnson City Memory Care for my mother, and everything was positive. The staff was very helpful. It's a nice facility, and the rooms were semi-private and private, roomy, and very well-lit. The dining area was nice and clean, the residents were having a get-together when I was there.
