The Palmettos of Bluffton has assisted living and nursing home in the same complex. It's almost two years old. They're new and the accommodations are very nice. It's a nice and smaller facility, so it has more one-on-one interaction. Its a great location. They have courtyards and gardens, cookouts and barbeques, patio, library, salon, and everything you want. They have different rooms depending on how much you want to spend and how big of an area you want. My father is in a studio apartment which is one of the smaller ones. It's very nice with a kitchenette, bathroom, large closet, and a nice window that overlooks a pond. The nurses are very nice and my dad likes them a lot, and the help in the dining room is amazing and very friendly. The activity director's a blast, and she's fun. They have different activities every day like Happy Hour with entertainment and movie nights. The food is fair and typical of anywhere we looked at. They have a variety of menu every day which is nice. There are little things that need to be worked out, and they're a little pricier than other places.

My mother is currently a resident of The Palmettos of Bluffton. The food is very good, they have activities although my mom hasn't joined in a lot yet. They play bingo for quarters, have happy hour every day and there's usually somebody singing or doing something. They have a bus that takes the residents on little trips, and they also have crafts. The staff seems to be very good. Like in other places, there's always an issue, but it gets resolved. The dining area is very good and they have a menu that you can choose from. You have to go to the dining room to eat unless you're sick. You can put what you want in the apartment, like your own furniture. I visited several senior communities, but this was the one we're comfortable with.

My mom stayed in memory care at The Palmettos of Bluffton and it was outstanding. It's a brand new facility and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to do whatever they could to make the residents feel welcomed and comfortable. They had a lot of activities and amenities. They would run old movies, do singalongs, a lot of entertainers come in to perform, play memory games like card games, do crafts and baking projects.

The Palmettos of Bluffton was a brand-new facility. It was beautiful, but was multi-floored. The rooms didn't have very large windows, and as a result, they were a little bit dark. They had a nice dining room and lots of activities planned. It sits right next to the NHC rehab facility.
