My sister moved into Stratford Place Assisted Living & Memory Care. The facility is relatively new, which was good. The staff members are pretty good. My sister says the food is good. They offer activities. My sister hasn't participated in anything off-site, but she likes puzzles and anything to stimulate the mind. She's got more than enough to do there. My sister has a microwave and a fridge in her room. They had no pool. They have a lounge area, a game room, a cafeteria, and movies.

Stratford Place Assisted Living & Memory Care was nice. However, they had the studio style rooms, so once I saw that, I wasn't as interested anymore, even though that would be the closest one to where I live. Compared to where my mom and dad are staying now, the rooms seemed small. If you had just one person in a room, it would probably be OK, but for two people in one of those rooms, they would probably be a little tight. It's a fairly new community. It was nice and it was clean, but it didn't have what my parents were looking for. The staff seemed OK. They're very knowledgeable. They had a salon, and they had the shuttle service to appointments and stuff. They were doing manicures that day when I was there.

The staff at Stratford Place was interactive. The people were not just sitting in their wheelchairs. It was a clean facility. The staff was interacting with the people that were there, though not quite as interactive as you would see over at the other location. The good thing about it is it was a small facility. When we walked in the memory care unit, a lady was singing a gorgeous song, and they were all interactive and sitting around and listening to her. The director there knew the people's names. He was new, but he already knew them. We started with assisted living and then we went up to the memory care. You could probably go into assisted living and then later get to memory care because they had the capability to work on it because it's a small area. They had interactive games. They had an activities director who was very nice, and she had a family member that was there, so to bring your own family in there is a plus. They had activities to do on a routine basis. The residents were making door wreaths and stuff. They had a lady helping them with that activity. They were doing activities, which is good because with memory care you want them to be doing something, even if they can't do that, they can glue a flower to a wreath, and that's good. The rooms were nice, but not as nice as the other location.
