My mom stayed at Pinewood Place for about 5 days. I think the management was very unprofessional, but I felt that the staff members were very nice and patient with my mother. I did not have a good experience because I was told to remove my mother, After all, they could not deal with her without me hiring a 24/7 sitter, which kind of negates the need for her to be in assisted living. In my opinion, they behaved very unprofessionally regarding the handling of the situation. My mom's room was adequate and functional but outdated. One of the staff members attempted to get my mom to participate in activities. They had bingo, music, and trivia games.
I thought the food was inadequate. They had a lot of sandwiches and leftovers. In one instance that I saw, they served dinner the same as the lunch they had served the same day, even though their menu stated they would be eating one thing. The dining area was clean and open. They had a courtyard, and it was well-maintained. The staff members were great overall, but the management was never there during the day. The nurse was never present. I saw the executive director once, so I don't think that they were actively present during office hours. The facility was clean and well-lit. The housekeeper was always present.

We liked our tour of Pinewood Place Assisted Living Community, it was clean and they seemed to cover all the bases. They had emergency poles and things like that. They don't have any advancement from assisted living into memory care which is an issue for us because my dad has Alzheimer's. The rooms were adequate, some of them had showers that you could get a chair into if you were completely wheelchair or walker-bound. They had two bathrooms, and in the other bathroom you could not get a walker or a wheelchair into the tub, it was like a shower tub thing. They had an interior garden area with benches, and so out every window they had a view of it. It was nice that all the rooms had a good view, and they didn't view air conditioners or a parking lot, which I liked. None of the rooms had a stove or oven, but they all had microwaves and a mini-refrigerator. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful, she was good. She gave us a sample of the menu, and the menu looked really good. It was very thorough with lots of options, and they don't serve the food to your room so you have to come into the dining room to eat.

We have toured Pinewood Place. The facility was great. The staff seemed to be well, but they couldn't provide one of the care that my sister needed. I thought the amenities were all good considering the folks in there were well above 70. It was pretty good. I remember seeing the salon, and I saw the dining room. I didn't look at a menu or anything. The young lady that met us and gave us the tour was very nice. The facilities and the grounds all looked well kept and maintained. There wasn't anything broken or needing repair or in disrepair. None of that was noted.

My mother is in Pinewood Place. We chose them because there are just 40 residents there, but the main thing was the personnel. They've been there for a while and it just felt more comfortable than some of the others that we went to. The cost was good, too. The food looked very good and they work with dietary concerns. My brother ate with mom and he didn't have any complaints about the food. I have not had a chance and I plan to eat with her this weekend. Her room was clean and redone. We're happy with it.

I did a tour of Pinewood Place. The staff was very friendly, and the residents looked very happy. I saw family members there, and they were pleased with the care that their family members were getting. The rooms were gracious and generous. The overall facility was very nice. We met the chef, and we were very impressed with his food choices and his offerings.
There were studios. I witnessed bingo, which was amazing. They also had a prayer group going at the same time, and all the residents that were in attendance were engaged. Their activities coordinator is very engaged with keeping them occupied.
They had four main common areas. They had a library, gym, beauty salon, and a craft activities room granted they only had 32 residents in total. It's a small community, but that's what we were looking for because we wanted her to have engagement with other people, and we didn't want her to get lost in the system.
A senior citizen living on a pension and Social Security could easily afford this location, and they service the veterans.
The chef was awesome; They went out of their way to make sure that they got food. That was impressive.

I went to Pinewood Place, and I liked it. They're coming out to evaluate my friend on Friday.
It was very good. They were friendly and it was clean. The people seemed happy and the lady who I toured with was very nice. I didn't have any problems with it at all.
I didn't try the food, but I saw it, and it looked good. I saw the chapel, rooms, and the courtyard. I think I saw almost everything.
The rooms were clean and roomy. One of them had carpet, and that wasn't my thing because I just prefer not carpet. The other ones have luxury vinyl floors, which is what I would do. That was more like the premier room. The one-room I was interested in had granite countertops, and it had a nice view, which was the main reason why I was interested in it. You could see outside, and it had a double window. It was nice.

We toured Pinewood Place in Goose Creek and we thought that was outstanding. I loved everything about it. The place was fantastic and the people were fantastic. We were going to place mom there because we thought my dad was a veteran but were misinformed all our lives. It came down to financing, so when the financing came, Pinewood didn't take Medicaid and my dad was not approved for a VA so we had to cancel. It would have eaten her money out without some assistance.
The staff was very caring, they were superb. They came out to the house to meet with my mom. They made her feel comfortable and they were just fantastic. They even stayed in contact with me on the phone.
I thought it was the cleanest assisted living facility that we've seen. It felt like home and it was just impressive. The minute you walked through the door, it was impressive. It's also kind of centrally located from everything.

We toured Pinewood Place for my mom, and it was good. I like most of the little space they have, but what I didn't like about it is the price after I got there. I was told one fee, and then it was a totally different fee when I got there. It's too expensive for her. The place has a very good community lay out. The maintenance and the cleanliness of this community was average. There were activities on the board. They have bingo, some cornhole, movies, a manicure-pedicure, and a beauty shop.

I visited Pinewood Place. The staff was great. They showed us around and showed us into one of the rooms. It seemed like a very nice place. It didn't smell like some nursing homes, and I hate a place like that. I actually just casually stopped and talked to a couple of the people in there, and it seemed like they really liked it. The staff during the tour was very informative. It was a nice-looking facility. I know they had somebody to cut their hair, and they had different activities like gardening.

My mom moved into the Pinewood Place. They've been great, they've been wonderful about communication and appropriate care for her. Mary is the person I've been dealing with the most, and she has been amazing. She takes calls 24/7 and is in contact with me, any time that I need her, she communicates really well, she updates me with videos and pictures of my mom since I can't see her, or really go there right now. They're actually making accommodations for the fact that the residents can't leave or they can't have people come there, they're supplementing that with various themed activities like carnivals and movie nights, and things like that. It seems very clean, her room, like we were able to look through the window and the room.

We walked into Pinewood, and they were quick to receive us. And then, the residents were in different places like some were sitting and listening to one of the residents playing the piano, some were sitting and watching TV, some were in the little dining area, some were walking up and down the hall. It circles around, so it was not a dead end hallway. It did not smell like a nursing home. The only thing maybe they can improve on is a better ratio of nurses to residents.

We liked Pinewood Place very much. The staff seemed friendly and caring. The rooms were small but clean and had all the necessary items. The location was excellent and the grounds were well kept, although small. They seemed to have a confident staff and a variety of services available.

I lived in Pinewood Place for 8 months. My experience was fine. They were good to me. I had a studio apartment. They had some activities, but I did not participate in much of it. The staff was good.

Pinewood Place was a small place. The staff was friendly, and the dining room was pretty spacious. They seemed to have many activities planned for the residents. Their price was pretty expensive. The apartments were spacious, and they were going around the dining room, so it was easy for the residents to get to the dining room from their apartments.

The workers at Pinewood Place are very kind to the residents. The food is bad, but they are very gentle to their residents. It's a small facility that has about 40 to 44 residents and activities every day. The residents love the staff, but they don't like the food because it's pre-made garbage that comes in a big truck. It's not good. Every resident there complaints about the food, but nobody does anything about it. Every worker there knows every patient's name and which room each one is in, and interacts with all of them.

We have a place for my relative to stay. He is in Pinewood now. We visited a lot of facilities in the area and we like this one the best. He has been there for two months now. The staff seems great. They seem to care about their guests. It also seems like they are knowledgeable. We did have to furnish his room there but that wasn't really a problem.
