Our residents also enjoy gardening and regular outings for shopping, dining, and entertainment. At Manning Place, we strive to provide the highest level of assisted living care for our residents.

Manning Place was very clean and very friendly. I saw families interacting with their loved ones. It's pet-friendly and that's a big plus for me. The reason why we're considering it is because of its location and that they acted like everybody matters, and I really appreciate that.
They have different types of rooms available from studios to two-bedrooms. I was shown a studio apartment which had a bed, a bath, and a small kitchen. It was very spacious. They also have a salon for those who want to get their hair done and physical therapy for those who need it.

I liked Manning Place a lot. It was very homey to me. I felt like it would feel comfortable having my mom there. It felt like she would have a community of people like her that she could associate with. The staff was all very welcoming and wonderful. The room I saw was empty, but it had a nice little kitchenette and a nice handicapped bathroom and it was enough space. It was like a studio room that I looked at. It had enough space for a bed and a chair and other things. I saw a model one, too, which had a bed, a chair, a TV, and a dresser. They had dining, and an outside courtyard area, and one of the positive things for me was they allowed pets there. My mother loves animals and even if she doesn't have one, there are other animals there. They have a beauty salon. It's kind of like any home. It wasn't a brand new facility, but it was well kept.

This is a smaller senior living community, the location is perfect. It is off a main road but so close to everything. Staff are engaged with each resident, they know not only the residents but also the family members. You hear laughter and feel the warmth as you enter.

My mother was a resident at Manning Place. The food is hardly palatable and is driven by a corporate menu from Chicago- think brats with peppers and onions for the geriatric population! The staff complain about being short staffed and were hardly available to help my mom with her personal care. The facility could use a face lift but they refuse to spend the money, citing that corporate wants to do it "piece meal", not sure why. There was a corporate nurse for a while, Tammy, she was the best asset but, she was transferred to West Virginia. Look past Manning Place if you want a good environment for your loved one.

Manning Place was number one on my list for quite a while. It was very well done, well shown, and relatively newer facility than the other facility. They are built in a perfect square so you could walk all the way around and through the place. Some of the doors were open so you could see the kind of room space they had, and it was very excellent. They have a living room area where there are a number of residents hanging out, and that was a good thing. It is totally assisted, and they don't really take that next level of skilled nursing care at all, so I had to take that one off the list. It was also a little bit further away from where we live, so logistically it went to the bottom of my list.
I didn't have much to judge their activities except for a group of people watching TV in their living room. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, friendly, gracious, and supportive of the community she was advertising, or she was showing. She was enthusiastic. She wasn't just the typical marketing person who makes something look better. She was very genuine in what she was showing me and how she reported it.

My father moved into Manning Place. It's awesome, I would pick it again, it's like family, and everybody is just extremely helpful. His apartment is a notch above anything I've ever seen. He has an apartment versus having a studio, or glorified hotel room, and his apartment is large and spacious. He gets three meals a day, he gets a lot of companionships while he's eating and the food is very good in meeting his needs. They have so many activities, he can choose to be involved or not, the activities director is very good at letting the residents know "hey we got bingo coming up." They have groups coming in now, they have church services, and prayer groups. They have organized exercise, have a family room, have an arts and crafts room, have a movie room, and have a courtyard. The residents can go outside and do activities outside, or just sit and relax. It's a very clean facility. The other thing that I really liked about there, is we only pay for the level of care that he needs. I'm not overcharged, so the rate is very good.

My mom is living at Manning Place in Greer. They have excellent service. I haven't been able to go in there since she went in because of the Covid restrictions. I was able to see the place when I moved her in though. The rooms are real nice, and the layout of the place is real nice. There's a garden that is right on the outside. They can go out there and work on their gardens, and they have dinners out there once a week. They have activities that they do throughout the week. They also have three meals a day. The only time I've been in was when we moved her in last June. She's pretty much on her own except she has somebody who takes care of her medicines for her. They have activities, worship services, crafts, and Bingo.

We found Manning Place for my sister. I think she's happy there. They're under strict COVID rules, they don't let people just come in and walk around their street, and they don't let people come and visit right now. It looks nice. She said they're gonna change the carpets in the halls and the public areas. The room looks good, it's spacious, it's a one-bedroom, with a private bath. It's a small community, and the full capacity is under 40. She was playing bingo, and they had an exercise room. I called and checked on her, and they said she had been exercising, so there are activities. I've met the staff, they seemed to be friendly, and they seemed to do their jobs, they smiled, and the people looked like they liked their jobs. It's not brand new, but they keep it up really well. They have internet and they provide a computer room. That's one of the lower-priced places, but they provide as much as the higher-priced place.

I lived out of town and called weekly to check in on my parent. The staff would not give any info. to me. What kind of people run this pl ace? The toilet leaked on the floor constantly. A safety hazard. Do NOT recommend Manning for anyone.

We absolutely love Manning Place. They do a wonderful job of taking care of my dad. We could not be happier. The staff members are very caring. They have gotten to know him, and he responds well to them. He really likes it there. He calls it home. We couldn't ask for anything more. They have all kinds of different things going on. One of my favorite things, I would say, is that they have music groups and people come in and do things. When my dad is not able to get out and do, they have people who come there. We like that as well. His room is like a baby apartment. It is really nice. He has plenty of room to have his bedroom area, his sitting area, his kitchen area and then of course the bathroom. They have a theater area and a craft room that they work in. Their dining room doubles as a place to do activities as well. One of my dad's favorite places to go to is the courtyard.

Manning House was not as clean nor as well appointed, but it was nice. The rooms were small. I think the maintenance director was the one who toured the property that day, and he was very nice and knowledgeable, but I didn’t had an occasion to really interact with him.

I visited Manning Place, but we found out that it would not suit my mother-in-law. The one-bedroom unit that we looked at was spacious. The staff was nice, and the facility was clean. My only personal drawback of this place is that it's near a high school football stadium, and it would be quite loud in there.

We are currently looking to move my mother out of manning house. There has been a lot of turnover recently. The company has let then good leadership go and it's been going downhill for months now. Medication errors, no activities and CNA's have expressed their frustration to me because no one above them will listen. It appears to be all about the bottom line and my mother deserves better.

It is a small place; I think they only have 37 or 39 units. Everybody there is not memory care, but they do memory care. Each unit has a bedroom, living room, a bathroom, small sink, microwave, and a small refrigerator. They have a small round table for four set up nicely with tablecloths, and the residents communicate at meal time. My mother has three other ladies she sits with every meal. They took them to mountain sights, to shopping stores, and they took them for a ride. They do pictionary, bingo, and the activities going there are very good. They do low-impact exercise classes and walking clubs. They can go outside and sit in the courtyard with trees and flowers. We have no complaints, though we would prefer she was at home, but it’s a good place to be and I really haven’t seen any problems at this point.

The recent changes in administrator and nurse are the best thing that could have happened. They are both an asset to the facility and they are making positive changes. So happy my dad is in the care of a wonderful staff.

It is not the best, but it’s OK. Most of the staff is very caring. Most of them are good, but they’re not just very knowledgeable as far as medical inclination, but they have hired a new nurse. I’m hoping things will change. My mother is in a little suite. She’s got a sink, a little refrigerator, and a little microwave. It’s got a bedroom and a very nice bathroom. They do have recreation. They do things, but she does not attend them if she does not feel the need to do it. The services could be better, and I’m hoping it gets better.
My mother is happy there, so right now we will stay.
