We toured The Pines at Greenville Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's family owned and operated, so we feel like they're going to pay more attention to what's going on in the facility. They have a great staff. The dining area is beautiful. It's like a little village inside. They have a nice garden and a front porch. It's a nice facility. I like the staff, too.

I went to The Legacy at Hawthorne Park. It was clean. It was welcoming. It was nice. I went on a Saturday, I don't recall there being a lot going on that day. While I was there, I saw some residents visiting with family members, but I didn't see a structured activity being done. I saw a small dining area, and I don't think that's the only dining area they had. The staff was very helpful and very informative.

My mother has moved into The Legacy at Hawthorne Park. I like that they know the residents very well. They get to learn their likes and dislikes and what their interests are and how to best take care of them. It is inviting, warm, welcoming, and intimate. I've seen their calendar. I know they have outings, they paint, they go outside and do activities, they listen to music, and they move about.

I liked The Legacy at Hawthorne Park, but it's a little more than what my mother can afford. They were remodeling part of the memory care at that time. The apartments were nice, but they only had the cabinets for your clothes and your belongings. They did not have built-in closets. I like the personnel a lot. Each wing had its own dining, and the facility was very nice.

We visited and it would have been our second choice. The rooms were not as nice as the place we picked. We walked into the dining room during lunch time, and it was different because each hallway has its own dining room. So only the people in that hall gets to eat in the dining room, and see the same people all the time. When we went in, everybody was just sitting. There were maybe 2 people on a table and nobody was talking to anybody. They told us that they have arts and crafts, games, and they take the residents on excursions. But we were there during lunch time and we didn't see any of that going on.

It is pretty good as a whole. It's always clean and looks nice, and they keep everything up-to-date. They have activities available for the residents, but my friend doesn't participate in any of those. They have someone playing music for their entertainment, there's always bingo, and they take trips to the stores. Most of the residents were active. There's one or two staff that I was not fond of, but they were, for the most part, very good.

I had a very positive visit, and it was very informative. The staff gave a glowing report of the amenities they offer, the services they provide, the activities they do every day. They have a small kitchen for the residents to get snacks, a beauty shop on site, and a little garden area where they can plant flowers. They have an activity area in the main building where they do bingo and play card games. The staff is not knowledgeable. They have a menu that you can choose from every day. You get usually two choices for each meal, with many fruits and vegetables. The food had a good flavor and was cooked well. My client has moved in.

It had a townhall setup which is what impressed me the most. They had a big area in the middle, a library, an ice cream shop, and two other areas. In the big area in the middle, they had a big screen where you could go watch movies. They have a very nice living room and dining room with a kitchen. I met the activities director, who was bubbly and enthusiastic. She really tried to put variety in there and was very friendly. I just had a very positive feeling about that place. The staff seemed very competent, particularly the director and the activities director.

I like it. My mom hasn't moved in yet, but she is about to. They have been very accommodating, very friendly, and very welcoming. Their rooms were all studios. I got her a deluxe studio, it is one of the biggest rooms in the facility, and I think it is plenty for her.

We visited and it is three stories and I think you can get lost easily in it because of the ways things are organized and that is the only drawback that I saw on that facility. The layout is a little bit confusing. Other than that, the staff was good. They have a fair amount of stuff going on. They have a library and they also play games. They also have people coming in for performances.

We chose it as cost was our very base determiner and they have been great. The staff has been fantastic, very willing to work with me and keep me updated anytime if anything happens, they have just been fantastic. Rooms are clean and well-kept up. Food as far as I know is good, I have not actually eaten there though. I like best the staff and the way that they treated me when I call them. We were in a pretty serious situation and they were very supportive and helpful in finding a safe place for my mom to stay.

I liked the lobby where you come into a kind of setup that is like a little town with a bistro and that kind of thing, and a library, but I don't know if my mother would have been able to use any of that because of being in a locked facility. That was where one woman was very forward with the idea that she was allergic to cats -- and she was kind of afraid of them too -- so I knew that wouldn't work for my mother. The rooms were actually larger, but I just wasn't as comfortable with the staff.

I liked it; it was a smaller place, and it didn’t have as many people. From my tours and if my brother could afford it, that’s where he’d be. It was a beautiful place, and I was very impressed. The rooms are beautiful. They seem to have more stuff where they could get in there and do their own little thing. If they want to sit down and play checkers or chess they can, and they have library areas. The only thing I didn’t like is they have an area at the back where they can walk around, and it’s close to the highway.

It was one of my favorites. I liked the location, the condition, the amenities and the price was quite in line with most of them.

It has two levels and we would prefer having everything on one level. Their dining room was spacious.

It is in a nice secluded location. You wouldn't think it was there. It's a brick building, a wonderful infrastructure. It's nice and clean. The have a nice library-type area where they can go. They have an assisted living section and a memory care section. The rooms are nice and large. The only thing I didn't like when I went in, I was able to walk around the whole place and never saw a staff member and no one came to greet me, and no one was sitting at the front desk. But the director was very nice and very helpful.
