The apartments at Holiday Haywood Estates were a little small. The staff showed us a three-bedroom and a two-bedroom, and the three-bedroom was smaller than the two-bedroom, so the two-bedroom worked better. I don't like the fact that it's on a busy road and the only entrance and exit are on that busy road. I have my reservations about that. Other than that, it was OK. There are a lot of really old people. She said probably half of their patrons are people on walkers or wheelchairs or whatever. The dining area was not as nice as some we've looked at. The tablecloths and stuff were cheap.
There is no stove. All the meals are provided, but I would rather have some of the meals provided, my choice, and a stove where I can make eggs in the morning or whatever I have a taste for. They have a list of activities and they had a wide range and everything was covered apparently. They had lunch at a restaurant. Those sound nice, but the people getting off the bus all had walkers. The crowd is a little old for me. The staff was very nice, and thorough, and listened to what we did and didn't like about them. It all seemed pretty clean and nice. Their washer and dryer are down the hall on each floor.

Holiday Haywood Estates was an older facility, but the advantage of that was the living space was very big and very nice. I looked at a couple of different sizes of units and they were quite large. It's an older facility, not sophisticated, but more of a homey kind of a place. I talked to a resident who said she was very satisfied. For the right person, it would be good because its price point is much less. It is mostly independent living, so that's why it would not have worked for my parents. They have a company that you can contract with to come in and provide care, and, once you start to pay for that on a weekly basis, the cost does add up quite quickly depending on the level of care that you choose. In the medical component, they have a nurse practitioner that comes in once a week, but it wasn't a robust enough medical assistance for my particular situation. Also, because it was older, it wasn't bright, and the public areas were smaller. The dining area was kind of basic with paper placemats instead of tablecloths.

I went to Holiday Haywood Estates. I like the friendliness of everyone, their enthusiasm, and they were helpful. My experience was very pleasant. I was very impressed. They had nice facilities. The staff was marvelous. They have a little bit of everything, a nice large dining room, a movie room upstairs, and they have all kinds of activities available. It's three stories altogether. The rooms are on the ground floor, the dining room on the second, and then the movie room and other facilities on the third, and they're all nicely furnished.

I toured Holiday Haywood Estates. The place was great and what I liked about it was the openness of the back. A patio opened into the yard and there was a side door that I could go right out of. The layout was great, and the people were good. The rooms were small, but I think they were adequate. I kind of liked the place quite a bit. The tour was complete. The staff took me to a lot of the different areas and showed me a lot of the different things that they had. She showed me activities in a lot of the different rooms. She was fine and knowledgeable.
They had a gym, activities room, and a movie theater. The dining room was nice and large. The room itself had a mini fridge, and you could include a microwave. It also had a nice, spacious closet. It just had a lot of nice things that I liked.

The manager of Holiday Haywood Estates was very pleasant, very helpful, and very welcoming. The facility seemed to be maintained and the residents seemed to be happy living there. I enjoyed their entertainment calendar. They have a lot of activities scheduled and it looks like the residents were kept very active. They had a library, a movie theater, a cafeteria, a laundry facility that seemed to be functioning well, and good transportation services that were available most of the time.

My father was at Haywood Estates. As far as the building, the meals, and so forth, it's everything that we had expected. We also expected that there would be a bit more assistance, but we were surprised with the $300 a week fee for assistance, which was not disclosed upfront. So, that was a surprise.
His room was very nice, though, as well as the staff. They did everything they could to assist us. He got a nice-sized studio apartment, and we were able to comfortably have a double sofa, a recliner, a queen sized bed, and a two-person kitchen table with plenty of room available still. There was no obstruction or no problems with using a walker or even a motorized chair.
The atmosphere was actually very good. The residents were very friendly and very supportive of each other. I would recommend it to anyone who can truly do one hundred percent independent living.

I found Haywood Estates to be very nice; it's just too far from my son's home. It seemed like a very pleasant place to live. I didn't have any problem with it except the distance. The person who received me was very gracious. We had lunch together, and I was impressed with her. There's nothing unpleasant about the place. The food was fine. I enjoyed the one meal I had; it was very good.

Haywood Estates was fine. It's a much older facility, but it seemed like what they were offering was decent. They're competing against very new facilities though. This is a 40-year-old independent living facility versus brand-new facilities that opened up in the last two years. I think everything was good. They have a good level of service. They have a lot of different subcontracting caregivers that can come in and I liked it. They had everything the others did, including a nice walking trail. It was well kept up but it's an older facility. It is next to the mall and has lots of restaurants.

When I first toured this facility in the Fall of 2019, it appeared to be the best place for my Mom to relocate to. The food was restaurant quality, the community van was available to take residents to Dr. appointments and weekly trips to the local Walmart. Management staff were available and accessible. The quality of food to date has been declined in quality, the van has not been available to residents since the pandemic and still is not operating despite the relaxing of CDC recommendations. It appears that this community has not been able to hire or maintain employment of a driver. Management staff has been reduced, stability and number of support staff is inadequate. Amenities such as availability of 2 snacks per day have been eliminated. Disappointed that the services and amenities that were advertised at the time of the signing a contract are not available to residents. The monthly fee does not accurately reflect what residents are now getting. Felt deceived at what this place was suppose to provide for residents.

I visited Haywood Estates. It was a very good experience. I liked the young man; I guess he's one of the salesmen. He was very nice and very comfortable to talk with. He tried very, very hard to have us see the place in the best light. I appreciated that he also was very forthcoming in his explanations of why certain things were the way they were. It's an older facility that actually really had problems during the height of Corona virus. They were very, very nice, very open, and I felt as if I could trust what what they were saying. I didn't feel as though I had to hide what I was feeling. I could be comfortable with my feelings.
I did not like the physical facilities. I think because I was not used to the style. It felt closed in. I saw one studio apartment that I liked very, very much, but I was not satisfied with the facilities in the bathroom. I was told that I could change it, but that's a lot of money to put into an apartment.

Disappointed. Thought with the amount of money we are paying for this place that it would be nice. Staff is very unorganized.

Haywood Estates seemed OK. It was a pretty good tour. The staff was pretty professional, and it seemed like a decent place. The rooms were just like a normal room. There was not a whole lot to really describe them. They seemed to have a decent amount of stuff for folks who are living there. They had three or four different activities each day that they can get involved in. It's kind of remote compared to what's really around the rest of the city, but they have transportation if you have some place that you need to go.

My aunt is at Haywood Estates. I like that she can live independently, but they are also careful about things; for example, there are no ovens or stoves. She has a little fridge, and she can have a microwave and a coffeemaker. It is not assisted living, but you can bring in people if you need and pay them separately for that. It is a good transition. She really could not live on her own anymore, but they provide all her meals, light housekeeping, and a little extra level of security than just living in her own place. I think of it as a retirement apartment. It is perfect for where she is right now. Her room is perfect for her. It is a one-bedroom apartment with a separate living room, a kitchenette, a little balcony, and a separate bedroom. She has her own bathroom with a shower. She is able to shower and dress herself. She is able to have her cat, which is very good. If she got to a place where she could not feed or wash herself, then that is assisted living and we would have to do something else. They do not have assisted living at this place. The staff we have seen at some places are just not too caring, I would say, but we have found the staff here to be very, very helpful, especially Louise and Ally. Louise handles the food service, and Ally does all the recreational activity. You can tell they care about their residents. They go out of their way, and they know their names. One or two of the other staff are not as friendly per se, but Louise and Allie really do make a difference, and they are the ones my aunt sees every day. I think the food is good, but they are handling 150 residents, give or take, so it's a little institutionalized. They have choices -- they get to choose three different things for lunch and three different things for dinner every day -- and they have some pretty good options. The place is a little dated, a little older, but it is clean, well-maintained, cozy, and comfortable. Since it is a little older, the rooms are bigger. Ally is the one handling the activities, and there is always something going on. There are probably four or five scheduled activities every day, and they can be involved as much as they want. You are paying for it, but they really care. They try to keep you independent, and they do the best that they can with helping you where you need the help, and not just assuming we need to put you away in assisted living.

My sister was in Haywood Estates, but she needed more care in the end. They had a nurse, and the place was big, twice as big as the place where she is now. It was good, they were freer with coming and going, visitors and stuff like that. It was pretty clean, they have housekeeping who come clean the room at least twice a week. The staff was nice, dining was like eating in a hotel, because they're owned by Holiday Inn. They did have a kitchen where like if you have company and you want to use it, they have down in the activity center a stove, refrigerator, and they could use it if they wanted to cook a family meal. They had activities like trivia, movie night, and bingo.

We liked Haywood Estates. The apartments were nice and decent sized, and had built-in closets. The dining area was very nice. The lady who took us around was very nice and very friendly to all the people. There didn't seem to be any problems.

Haywood Estates was very nice. We had lunch there, and the people were very nice, but the rooms were too small. They had a pretty good program. It's independent living with three meals a day. The staff was very nice. I had no complaints. The food was good and adequate, but there's nothing special. They had a library.

This is a Beautiful Community my family and more importantly my mother got a real sense of belonging upon visiting. All the residents and staff are friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are spacious and inviting allowing my mother to decorate and bring what she likes to make it feel more like home. The food is excellent with several choices. Tons of activities, day trips, outings, entertainment. I see such an improvement in her quality of life since she has a sense of belonging and tons of friends. Wish I did this years ago when she could have took advantage of there travel program allowing her to visit all of the US and stay and eat for free.
This community is like none other I visited and I rest easy knowing my mother is safe and happy among people I feel are like family.
Make it a point to put on your list for a visit you will be pleasantly surprised.

I'm satisfied with Haywood Estates. My room has quite a bit of space. I have large furniture and some display cases, and it accommodates a large TV and my computer. It's a two-bedroom facility. The food is more than generous. The dining area is very good. It has very comfortable chairs and they're set up four people per table. I just don't like that there are too many people here that really ought to be in a more hospital facility.

Haywood Estates is a good fit for my father-in-law. One of the things that impressed me was that, when we came in, everyone was very happy, not only the people that work there but the people that live there as well. That was a big part of why we chose this particular place. They have a whole array of activities and amenities. Not only was it the best place that we visited, but it is also the most cost effective.

Haywood Estates seemed like a very nice place in a nice neighborhood with a pleasant atmosphere. There was a reading room. Some people were coming in to play music as we were leaving. The staff seemed knowledgeable and open. It was a nice visit.

Mom is at Haywood Estates, and she likes it a lot. The staff is terrific, and they are on top of every request and just try to accommodate you. Her room is very adequate. It’s not home, but she likes it. They have a lot of activities, and she likes it a lot.

Haywood Estates was fairly nice, and I didn’t see anything wrong with it. I met one person and she was nice, I had one meal there, and it was OK. The dining area looked fine, and they had good service. Everybody in there seemed content, but the thing I didn’t like was it was very expensive.

My grandfather moved into Haywood about a year ago. The staff is awesome and very accommodating. His room is a big one-bedroom with a den, kitchen, and bathroom. They have a movie theater, games played daily, and trips to Walmart and doctors’ appointments once a week. The food is good.

Haywood Estates is a very nice, busy, older community with lovely apartments. When we sat down and did the math, we figured out we could not afford it. It’s a very nice facility if you don’t mind being in a very busy area.

Haywood Estates is what my mother needs. They have three meals a day. They have a laundry facility on each of the three floors, and they provide bed linens and towels. They have games and entertainment. They also have a bus that takes people to the local stores, and they provide transportation to take them to the doctors and to any other appointment.

Haywood Estates is very nice and bright. Every time someone moves in, they take care of things. The food was delicious. It was pretty impressive. We went there twice, and we checked everything. The staff was very friendly and very kind. They have lots of games to play, and they have fitness things and movie nights. It was very cheerful.

Haywood Estates was very nice. We enjoyed ourselves there. The people there were very nice and welcoming; however, my mom and dad aren't ready to go. The rooms were very nice. They were all very clean and updated. They were all good sizes. Every time someone leaves, they clean the carpet, change the window curtains and paint, and they make everything brand new for when you move in. They have one-bedroom-and-one-bath, two-bedroom-and-two-bath, and studio apartments. We had lunch at Haywood Estates, so we were able to meet the wait staff, and they were very friendly. They talked with us for a few minutes; they weren't in a rush. The food was very good. They have an activity room. They have a van where they give you transportation back and forth from doctor's offices and shopping trips, so that was a plus.

Haywood Estates is a nice place. It's fine, but it wouldn't suit my mom. She can't live in independent living. It seemed clean. They took me on a tour. I loved the room; the suite was beautiful. They had the kitchenette set up with what she has now with their sink, microwave, and refrigerator. The staff seemed very nice. It was a large facility. I think it was very great.

We visited Haywood Estates and we felt it was presented very well. Their personnel seemed to be very knowledgeable and gave us some information that we were not aware of. They have nice open spaces for meetings and gatherings. They also have a library. My only negative with this facility is that there was a certain odor that was not pleasant. If you live in the area, I would recommend this place.

My mom has been staying in Haywood Estates for three months now. The facility is very well-kept and very clean. They don't make everything for her but only provided her the essentials. It is not total assistance that she wouldn't have to work her mind at all, so it gives her the ability not to decline as quickly. I saw definite improvement after she moved in there. They have a lot of activities for her. I call her more than she calls me now and that's very encouraging. Whereas before, living in her apartment by herself, she always had time for anything because she never really did anything. Now she got the church activity, she goes shopping with them and she pulled out a big wad of bucks that she got doing some of their bingo contests. I think she is enjoying life. Meals are also provided for her there, so she doesn't forget to eat and I've eaten two or three times with her and the food is good. I enjoyed it.
