We have a family member needing skilled nursing from this skilled nursing facility. The Woodlands is listed on Prisma's list of facilities to choose for rehab, however, our case manager and myself have contacted the only person the receptionist will allow you to speak to. I ask for the administrator because I thought they may like to know the lack of communication and the frustration their facility causes during a already difficult time in a patient's life. Not sure if this one person is overworked or patient/customer service is this bad. I guess I just need to count my blessings that this was found out prior to putting our family member into a bad situation. I ask for the administrator because I thought they may want to know how their business is perceived to the public but you can't get past the receptionist and I do not find the staff information online. VERY bad communication with the public. So glad to find this out in advance.

My mother is currently living at the Woodlands at Furman. It's beautiful, it's a beautiful location, a nice facility, and everything there is lovely. It has a beautiful lobby and they have great facilities, but she does not take advantage of anything. I think the staff is great, they're wonderful, and everything, from the food to the way they maintain the place, is immaculate. They have great activities, they take the residents out, they have a private car service if someone wants to go to the doctor, they travel in a Lincoln Continental, and they're picked up and dropped off. If they have activities, it's in one of those coach buses. They're on the campus of Furman University, so they have access to all the athletic facilities as well as the campus theater and concerts. It's walkable if they're able to walk, and for those that can't make it, they drive them. There are no other life-care communities that have the same cost here in Florida, and if we move her here it would be month-to-month payments.

I liked The Woodlands at Furman very much, but it's a little expensive. They provide one meal a day and a nice room with a screened porch. They had activities, and it's next to Furman campus. The staff was very nice.

We toured the Woodlands, it was beautiful, but we couldn’t afford it. I saw single and double rooms, the dining room, and the nursing home wing. The dining area is very nice. They have nice people and good people there.

The Woodlands at Furman was a beautiful new facility. It had fully furnished, but very small kitchenettes in the apartments. It was a much more modern and a little fancier facility. It is definitely more expensive. Instead of paying month to month, you have to put a large amount of money down.

We visited The Woodlands several times before my friend made up her mind that's where she wanted to go. I like the way it was very upbeat. It was very lively and very active. The place was beautiful. What I really like was their attitude with keeping everything very vibrant. The activities were just great and all the things they did just really, really nice. The people that are there seemed to be very happy with everything. It just felt like this is a great place because everybody was doing something. It wasn't like an old folk's home. There were lots of going on. The other thing that really impressed us was the quality of the food. It was absolutely outstanding. Those two things really what sold her on that place. With regards to activities, they have the general run of the mill things, but in addition to that, they provide a lot of outside entertainment. For instance, they had a Kentucky Derby Day. Just recently we went to a dance they had there with live music and lots of food. The rooms were all very good size. My friend has a large living room with a dining area. It has a very nice kitchen fully appointed. She has laundry room and one bathroom. She can have it painted any colors that you want. It looks out on a garden. It is very nice. I would definitely recommend this.

My husband and I will be moving to The Woodlands at Furman. We chose the facility because it is a full continuum of care facility. Everything is connected indoors. We liked the layout of the place. They have many different layouts of apartment to choose from. They offer complete services.
