Florence Place was very nice and very clean. They were very businesslike and very professional. The rooms were nice. The only thing I didn't like about that one is its multilevel, I think it has a second story. Other than that, it was great. It just didn't suit my purposes because it was on the other side of town. Their staff were very good. They're very nice and very professional. I have seen their dining area and their menu; they seem to be very nice. I don't like the location, it's too crowded, too much noise. It's just not very serene, kind of loud, and noisy.

What I liked the most about Florence Place was that it's not full. The lady who gave the tour was very good. She answered all my questions and gave me all the information I needed. We toured the studio apartment and it was plenty spacious enough and it looked well kept. That was the model though. They have a salon, a courtyard, a common room downstairs, and another common room upstairs. The only thing was they're limited in activities for men.

My friend is in the assisted living of Florence Place. It's clean. The food seems to be good, and the residents seem to be happy. The staff is caring, considerate, and seem sincere. They care about making the residents happy. The rooms are beautiful and clean. They have a beautiful activity room with lots of activities, and I highly recommend it. They literally rolled out the red carpet when my friend came. She really started crying because she really appreciated it. It made her feel very welcome.

I like the Florence Place. I like that it was clean. It has nice furnishings, and the staff is very nice and friendly. I have interacted with a few of the residents that were living there, and they were telling me about how much they love living there. It's a small place. It is a small group of people that are residents there, and they all seem close. It was a really nice, clean place, and was a very good experience. The property was well manicured in terms of the landscaping and all that stuff. It has nice furniture. It's a nice place. I think anybody would be satisfied there, and it seems like a really good place to be. I've interacted with the staff. They're very nice and professional. When we were there, they served lunch for my mother. She enjoyed it. They have a game day. They do exercises. They go for outings and get ice cream sometimes, and they go to the park. They do a lot of stuff. While I was there, there was one of the ladies that had them in the room. They were watching some type of educational type thing on the TV. They all seemed so happy and content.

My parents are very unhappy in Florence Place. The worst of all is the food. The quality of the food is terrible and the kitchen has been shut down by inspectors several times. They always get their meals late and they never get what they ask for. The other thing is that they are supposed to be doing physical therapy with my mom but they don't do any physical therapy. The facility itself looks fairly nice and clean, and they've got some assistants that are OK, but mostly the staff has high turnover and is not very concerned about the residents. The director also makes all kinds of promises, but she never does what she says she's going to.

Florence Place is incredibly cheap with only has 25-30 residents. The building was kind of run down, though still nice. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and gave us all the information we needed. The dining area was good. Their outdoor space was very good. There was a balcony, where they could overlook a garden area; it was pretty cool. I looked at 2 rooms, and they were both very nice. The cleanliness was OK. It was just an older building.

We have moved my dad into Florence Place. It's been good so far. We can't go in to see anybody because of COVID, but getting him checked in was good, and the people being good to him. So far, so good. We were able to set up the furniture in his room. His room is OK. It's a small apartment, but that's all the room he needed. He has been quarantined for 14 days, so he really hasn't experienced the dining room. They pretty much brought meals to him. He hasn't complained about the food, so it must be OK. Everything is clean and in order. It doesn't smell like a nursing home.

mom's best
My mother was at Florence place before and after enlivevant purchased . The care became awful after new management took over. My Mother was left with no food when she was not able to take herself down to dinning room.My mother was so weak she then could not get out of bed! The staff verbally and physically abused her and we over heard while in her room. My Mother had terrible bruises on her arms from being pulled by them ! We now have my mom some where else and it is so much better. I do not recommend anyone place there loved one at Florence Place !

My mom is living in Florence Place. I have no problems with it whatsoever as far as the design and upkeep of the building. Everything has been wonderful and I have no complaints. The staff had been wonderful. They work with my mom so much to accommodate her, which has been great. My mom has no sense of time as far as getting prepared or ready, so they have really worked with getting someone help her get dressed and ready in order to participate in activities and go on trips. My mom loves the music programs.

LOVE the people that care for my mother here. She's been there almost 4 years and is very happy. Any bumps in the road have been handled professionally and compassionately. They treat her like family, and she loves them like family. Believe me, if my mother wasn't happy there, I would not have her there - and she's a handful sometimes!

I like Laurel Gardens a lot. It was attractive and I like the location. It was on the side of town I wanted to be in. Everybody was very friendly. It was almost perfect. I like the level of activity I saw there -- people weren't sitting, staring, and drooling. They were moving around and active. They're clean and very nice. The staff was very nice to me, too. I don't know about their activities, but they do take people out. They have a little bus for them. I had a nice lunch there and it was delicious.

Emeritus never followed back up with me. I wanted a price on three different locations. One of their locations was located on Hilton Head Island where we were going to be staying for our vacation and I thought I might take my mother there if she could stand the ride. This was last year. She never followed it up and gave me a quote on what the per day rate was at the one in Hilton Head but yet they called back six months later and wondered if they could help me find respite care for a week for us to be on vacation and I said you didn't help me last year. I'm not badmouthing them for that. It was a nice enough place because I'm not that picky. The manager of the place said she was going to give me a tour but all I saw was one dark, little room that had a bunch of furniture in it. It was poorly lit and my mother would have fallen over something due to it being dark and interrior. Also the layout of it was like square. You had to turn to the left, turn to the right, make another left or whatever to get to the great room where the TV was. My mother has Alzheimer's so she'd never figure out how to get back to the room. The staff were friendly, nice and helpful for any questions that I had but it wasn't a tour, it was just a sit down and let me tell you what we offer and here's how much it is a day. There's not a TV in there but for somebody who has Alzheimer's and dementia, a big part of their day is just sitting there and watching TV.

Laurel Gardens was okay but it's too expensive and I wasn't 100% impressed. Most of the patients I saw were in wheelchairs. The staff was fine. I haven't tried the food though. I just really can't afford Laurel Gardens.
